Where should I study abroad to learn Spanish?
I am a Spanish major looking into affordable study abroad programs for the fall semester, and for now my city choices are Valdivia, Chile, Morelia, Mexico, and Rosario, Argentina. I'm a 22 year old female and I am concerned about activities around the city, safety, and desirability of accent. I also prefer a more tropical feel (but it is not necessary), and less European influence. If you have any experience with any of these cities at all, please share your stories. Thanks!

Hmmm…I’ve only been to Spain, and I LOVED it. It was amazing! However, since you don’t want a European feel, then I would go with Valdivia, Chile. I think I’ve heard that Argentina is more European-style (though, don’t take my word for it), and I feel like it’s really easy to go to Mexico (as far as just traveling goes), so I would venture out to Chile! And if you go to Chile, I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to fly down to Argentina one weekend or over a break! Wherever you go though, I’m sure you won’t regret it! Good luck on making your decision–I’m trying to find a good program to study through in the fall too! Have a great semester abroad!
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is beautiful, safe, offers great spanish schools and a friendly population that would make it easy for you to practice.
