First of all, not all Spanish speakers are from Mexico. Second, I think your question is racist and your concept of Mexicans is totally derogatory.

No I have been to Mexico a lots of times I think it is acceptable to speak Spanish in Mexico…..even if your white.

(1) Mexicans are native Spanish-speakers; they speak Spanish! Why would it tick me off?
(2) What do you mean "White people"? Millions of Mexicans are white, many are even blond!!!

Considering the language in Mexico is Spanish, no. The only time I get upset is when they start in on Spanish when I’m shopping so they can insult me because I’m white like I don’t get it. Yes, a lot of white people here are jerks to Hispanics because of the illegal immigration rate and they’re also somewhat ignorant, but that doesn’t mean that ALL white people hate you because of race…. And I actually speak Spanish, so it tends to surprise them when I let them know after they’ve been talking for a while.

But as far as speaking your native language, go for it! Spanish is a beautiful language, the culture of Spanish speaking areas is very cool, and in the Southwest, Spanish isn’t the only language we have besides English. We also have the Navajo and Hohokam tribes. Also cool languages. I honestly think that other languages are all amazing and beautiful in their own way. I wish more Americans would try to learn at least one other language.

Nope doesn’t bother me, but then again I’m not white! The only time I get ticked off is when I’m highly qualified for a job but since I’m not bilingual they do not look twice at my application…. Now that ticks me off! If you live here, you need to learn the language, END OF STORY!
