What would be better to learn, Spanish or Japanese?
For high school i need to take 2 years of Foreign language to graduate, and the 2 Options i am considering are Spanish and Japanese. I would choose Spanish because i hear it is very easy to learn, BUT i dont really want to know spanish so its only for an Easy A. On the other hand Japanese may be Alot more fun to learn because it is a very interesting Language to me, BUT im concerned about the Difficulty of it. So anyways How difficult is Japanese to really learn in relation to Spanish?

i’d go with spanish. a lot of people will tell you its super hard but i’ve taken 8 yrs of spanish and i’ve found it to be really easy. most spanish words are very closely similiar to english words, they are just pronounced slightly differently. same thing for the alphabet. with japanese, you have to learn all these symbols and what each one means and etc etc. i think spanish is also more important because this language is increasingly becoming THE most popular language in america, next to english of course
also, when you go to apply for jobs, a lot of the employers are starting to require that their employees know some, if not all, spanish language. but good luck with whatever you choose.
Spanish – spoken world wide in many many countries.

Japanese of course it would help you in your carrier .
often people perform better at subjects that they have a strong interest in, because they are motivated to work hard for it. So i’d choose japanese
Spanish, mostly because in todays world, you are going to need it. Odd’s of you needing/using japanese is pretty slim depending on where you live.

I’m learning japanese at highschool and sometimes it can be a bit tricky.
because you need to learn all their sentance structure eg;
watashi wa ringo o tabemasu (this is a simple sentence)
I eat an apple.
well i guess spanish will be hard as well ..
Lets put aside the fun and lets look at the great advantage of learning a language that is second to English. You will possibly be able to get better paying jobs because of being bilingual. Think about it.
Spanish is definitely better! not only because it is easy but its lots of fun i did jap in yr 8 and it was really hard….. Spanish is fun to learn and i think its spoken more around the world compared to jap.. i hope that helps
Spanish is not easy. The first year feels like kindergarten but then the second year feels like you jumped a few grades. Ive been in high school spanish for 3 years it actually takes some work.
If you’re planning to live in Japan, or if you want to go there for some long-term business trip, I say you take Japanese. Common sense, eh? But hey. If you’re not going to associate with Japan at all, I suggest you take Spanish. I’m in Spanish 4 AP right now and I’m not regretting anything.
And oh! Trust me, it’s not as easy as you think.
Spanish is useful, take SPANISH.
Japanese is more difficult but more interesting at the same time. It’s better to study something that’s difficult and interesting than something that’s easy and boring.
