What spanish speaking country should I choose if I were to study abroad?
I wanted to go to Mexico becaue it is cheaper than other programs but I heard that they hate black people down there. I dont want be stuck somewhere for 6 months and have the worst time of my life. I heard similar things about spain, colombia, and almost every other spanish speaking nation.
So which nation would be the best for me to go to w/o being treated like crap?

I would recommend going to one of the universities in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have several friends, including a black Caribbean girl, who went there and loved it, plus Buenos Aires is a large, international city so you would be much less likely to be the target of any nastiness.
You could go to the Spanish-speaking portion of Brazil. Brazil is extremely diverse, so they would be accepting. However, I spent time in Spain and loved it.
Colombia definately,
1. Colombia’s capital is cosidered to have the purest Spanish, Spain’s spanish has more accent
2. Colombia’s official language is Castilian, or Proper Spanish
3. many Colombians can benefit from learnign English From you
4. Cheaper than living in Europe
5. Warmer people
6. Spaniards are known to be the most racists in Europe
7. Colombia has the 3rd largest population of people of african decent, outside of Africa
I think you should go to Argentina! i dont think they are discriminating
Go to Spain.
Be nice.
They’ll love you.
I’d say Puerto Rico isn’t a bad choice, plus we have American citizenship here. And we have all kinds of races here, from white to black, from Hispanic, to American, and even Chinese. If you go to more mainstream parts (like San Juan (the capital)) you’re probably more likely to find more educated people, as well as English speaking persons.
