what is the easiest language to learn, besides English?
I am already learning Spanish. I want to be a interpreter or a translator, and I want to be fluent in at least 2 other languages:English,Spanish,etc.etc. I am thinking about learning Hindi or Thai or Hebrew or something really foreign. Can anyone help me?

German is easy but if you’re learning Spanish already, you should perhaps find it easy to learn Italian or Portugese.
i think that italian is the easiest to learn
English is one of the hardest languages for a non-native speaker to learn. IMHO, Italian is the easiest language.
eng is actually quite difficult compared to some languages as far as diction and pronunciation. ex- to two too. their there they’re. there are alot of variations in the english language whereas in spanish for instance only one meaning per word its simple.
arabic might b handy
English is the hardest language to learn (I know, I taught English)
the languages my students found easiest to handle were the Romance languages, Spanish, Italian and French … personally, I found French easiest
English is not easy to learn. Neither are the others you suggested. If you already know Spanish, go for Italian and Portuguese. There will be a lot of cognate words and constructions.
I thought that English is easy to learn. But Mandarin Chinese, oh, that’s hard. lol
Okay, English is hard with vocabulary, phonetics, and idioms, however the grammar is very simple.
The only language I found to have easier grammar is Norwegian, and it’s relative languages Swedish, and Danish.
The verbs are simple, the nouns are pretty consist, and the sounds aren’t that bad. There are a lot of cognates with English.
Now, the rest of the languages I’ve studied seemed to be more difficult in grammar.
Mandarin Chinese is one the most widely spoken languages. I would reccommend that. Also Russian is a fun language to learn. You want to be a translator, but where do you want to do it? Look at the area and see what would be needed the most. I know Southern California has a lot of Mandarin Chinese. Denver has quite a use for Russian translators and Spanish. I don’t know for sure. Just look into where your interested in living.
I can give you hindi lessons for a minimal fee. You will need to get the book Teach Yourself HIndi. You need a microphone with headphones. Contact me at omlick@yahoo.com for more information.
For any of these languages you mentioned you will need to learn their script. For Hindi, you should also pick up the book "Teach Yourself Hindi Script" before you begin the Teach Yourself Hindi as it is better to learn the script first and be able to sound out words.
Hindi is not so easy as Spanish to learn because there is not much of a common vocabulary that it shares with English. Keep that in mind. Spanish comes from Latin and many words in Spanish are easily recongized by English speakers since English is infiltrated with Latin words from the French invasion of England.
However, Learning Hindi has a lot of advantages like Bollywood movies which you can watch and learn from. HIndi is becoming very popular these days throughout the world. I guess that is because India is a rising economy and that is where the money is.
