That goes for any test. To actually learn the language, immerse yourself as much as possible in it. Watch the spanish channel and listen to spanish music. I improved my english by reading fanfiction. You pick up slang, get familiar with the sintaxis... the problem is, many mexican/spanish/etc have bad ortography. Not everybody, but many... One thing I did to help my boyfriend lear english was buy books aimed to little kids. Sesame Street, rhymes... Or, second option: Sing.
