Ser is used for
Profession
To Describe What Something is made of
Permanent Characteristics
Estar is used for
Location
Temporary status (e.g the mood your in or how you are feeling, emotionally or otherwise)
don’t they mean the same thing?… and i’m suposed to speak perfect spanish! :O
"Ser" is to be someone
"Estar" is to be somewhere or somehow.
For example "soy aburrido" means "I’m borring" while "estoy aburrido" means I’m bored.
You could also think of "soy colombiano" I am colombian
or "estoy en Colombia" I am in Colombia
