Learn to Speak and Understand Spanish
I told me friend that it was more useful to know Chinese because of business and China has more people then any country in the world, but he said its better to learn Spanish because the United States is so close to a Spanish speaking country. Which Langauge is more useful? i need help for planning for my classes for next year!

It depends on where you want to work in the future.
I personally recommend Chinese especially if you are not thinking of staying in the states in the future, and if you are not going to apply to countries where Spanish is the main language. Not to mention, Chinese is becoming one of the most useful languages these days.
But keep in mind that when it comes to the Chinese language, there is a difference between Cantonese and Mandarin. Mandarin is more commonly used world-wide and it is a very useful language in the business world.
take chinese. you should be able to pick up spanish easily in usa.
i would do Chinese because of business if you get a degree in business and get with a company that deals in China your a front runner, but if you only have plans of staying in the US and not doing anything overseas Spanish is the best choice. Right now if you can find anywhere that offers it any of the Middle Eastern languages would get you a good government job.
Well, it really depends on who you plan to do business with, and where you see yourself working.
If you see yourself working in the Far East, or in the Chinatown areas of most any US west coast city or New York, then Chinese may be the way to go. If not, maybe Spanish.
It depends on the purpose of the language. For communication as a tourist? as a businessman? to understand another culture? to gain information from a different perspective in a different language? Only you can answer this question.

spain is cool and a great place to visit as are many south american locations.
go to china and you’ll come home with bronchitis because of the oppressive pollution.
at this point Mandarin , between china and japan, we need to be able to talk to the "taxman"
