I am learning Spanish and need lots of Spanish learning materials. Can anyone recommend bookstores around LA area? Thanks!

I would like to re-learn spanish and speak it fluently this time. I wanted to purchase Rosetta Stone because I've heard that it's a really good program to learn spanish. Unfortunately, Rosetta Stone is too expensive for my budget. Volume 1 is 0 and to purchase a complete set which includes volume 1-5, the price is around 0 to 0 a set. I'm looking for the second best, interactive, spanish learning software out there; or the best, most affordable, interactive, spanish learning software on the market.

i used the demo for Rosetta stone and i loved it. but i got no $. so what is a good spanish learning software that i can use for free.

I'm thinking about getting rosetta stone for spanish. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me approximately how many words the 3 levels teach, and how long it takes to complete the levels. Is there any other spanish learning software that would be better for an advanced beginner?

Hey, so i got money for an early Christmas present and i was wondering if I should buy a Spanish learning CD. It's 40 dollars but according to my mom it's a pretty good company. it's something like Belkin, idk but it's something like that.
I don't have a lot of Spanish speaking friends but hey it wouldn't hurt to learn. I'm 16yo and I think it would be great to know a 2nd language. And i'm also home schooled so I have all the time in the world to learn.I only have 60 dollors so i would be left with 20.
Do you think this would be a smart investment or not?
thanks for your answers :)

I am planning on spending the summer in a Spanish speaking country in an intensive immersion type Spanish learning program. (Now, please don't just google and throw instant researched answers... I can do that myself. Please only answer if you have real concrete EXPERIENCE with this.) I would like to know what experiences people have had, negative and positive to help me examine my possibilities. I am leaning toward Salamanca but open to countries other than Spain as well. Thank you in advance for all your help! :-)

besides going to a country where people speak that language..
is it faster/easier or more efficient to learn a new language like spanish through a:
1.) spanish tutor person
2.) or a spanish learning dvd ( if dvd what kind of dvd)
ALSO, how long does it take to completely learn a new language?
Thank You

I am in Spanish 2 class and it sucks. I cannot concentrate and I need a good but cheap Spanish learning cd I can get that will help me learn Spanish and to help me not fail any more tests. Please give me suggestions on what to buy. Thanks!

I am looking for an INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED audio/reading guide to learn Spanish, becoming fluent eventually. Any on Amazon or online that people can recommend?
I don't know which ones actually work.

So again, any helpful Spanish learning books (audio/text) that is in the advanced level, NOT beginning books.

Thanks!

Hi All,

My son has a new daycare teacher (its a home daycare) that speaks mainly spanish. She has been teaching my son spanish words. I know that this will be good for him in the long run, but I would rather him wait another year or 2 before he is taught spanish. We speak english only in our house. I just feel like because he is still learning to speak english, the spanish learning should wait. Am I being paranoid? I just don't want him coming home and pointing at something, and saying what it is in spanish, but not knowing what it is in English. Is it too early for him?

I bought this Spanish learning CD so i could learn spanish, its part of my culture and I barely know any of it. I heard that if you put it on some kind of music player, go to sleep, and play it over night, youll learn it(not only languages but other things too), is this true?

I need to learn Spanish. What is the best Spanish learning software?
