I came back from Florida and I enjoy the spanish culture and people so much I want to learn the language, the hard part is that I live in Canada and there are not that many spanish people around. My school does not teach it unless you take the lower grade courses which I didn't and the school board doesn't have any courses until january. Is there an easier way?

I am looking for any movies that could supplement my study of Spanish.

Criteria:
Movie is in Spanish (extra pts)
English subtitles (extra pts)
Incorporates Spanish culture (extra pts)

Short, concise answers are always appreciated.

Right now I'm in Spanish 1 Part B (in my school it's split into two parts: Part A and Part B). Last year I did pretty well in Spanish class. I got mostly A's and B's. But this year I have a TERRIBLE teacher. She doesn't really teach us and teaches us more of the Spanish culture instead of the language. The tests are getting harder for me and I am getting lower and lower grades. I REALLY want to learn Spanish and am not giving up. So I've decided to study more on it. Is there any way to get better in Spanish? Study tips, etc. Thank you so much!

I got to figuring ... if I (or someone else) learns Spanish, and learns it well, do you HAVE to learn to "love the Spanish culture" also? I mean, can one go without the other?

My daughter might have to learn a foreign language someday, and though Spanish might be the most useful (because of all the goddamn illegal Mexicans in my area) ... I don't want to encourage a love or respect for "La Raza" ... next thing you know, she'll be bringing home some gang-bangin' Mexican ex-con ...

... should I encourage her to learn French or German, instead?
Francis, you're a goddamn GENIE-US ... go give yourself a congratulatory enema or something.

I might make the distinction ... if I had any "people from Spain" living in my town. But, seeing as they're all from "Mexico" or "Somewhere even more south than Mexico" ... MEANS THAT THEY'RE MEXICANS, for all intents and purposes.
Maybe I should have said "Mexican" culture ... different or not, it's all the same to me.

I will being taking AP Spanish 5 next year and going into 11th grade. I want to visit a Spanish country for a couple of months before the next school year starts in order to really get my Spanish better and immerse myself in Spanish culture...Like a study abroad type of thing where i take classes in the morning and explore the sights in the afternoon. I have heard that Spain has a lisp when they speak while Peru is a cleaner more beautiful sounding Spanish...However, i fear that Peru will not have as many attractions as Spain will. If you could please give me your thoughts and opinions on helping me make this decision, I would greatly appreciate it. I am also willing to go to other Spanish countries if they offer more for my needs...so feel free to choose another country for me to visit, if you feel that they have more to offer.Thanks.
explain your answer

This is for a schoolwork. Thanks in advance for your answers!

If the answer is yes...
♦Where do you study (school, institute, university) ?
♦Do you like it? Why? Why not?
♦Do you find it easy, or rather difficult?
♦What stuff is used to study (books, audio CDs/cassettes, flashcards, the internet, etc.) ? Can you say the name of the book or web site?

If the answer is no...
♦Would you like to do it?
♦How would you do it? (e.g. ask a teacher or a native speaker, buy a book on the subject, read, watch and listen to the Hispanic media--radio, TV, press, etc.)

♦Are there Spanish speakers in your area?
♦Do you listen to Spanish music? Who do you listen to? (e.g. Juanes, Shakira, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Tiziano Ferro, Julieta Venegas, Maná, other...)
♦What do you think of Spanish culture?

THANK YOU!
♦Which is your native language? (English, French, Italian, German, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese, Romanian, ...)
Where do you live (country) ? (the US, Canada, Britain, France, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Japan, ...)
Well. I do understand all I wrote here, and I speak Spanish. All you have to do is to answer some of the questions. Thanks again.

I adore the Spanish culture and their language. Currently I am in Spanish 1, learning more than ever. My friends say that I can speak it well, but I want to speak it so well, just to hold a conversation and adapt the Spanish tongue. What do you recommend I do to learn Spanish faster (at a moderate pace) to be able to speak it fluently?

I'm in a college intro to Spanish course and for our project, we have to do a 3-5 minute talk in Spanish on someone/something that has to do with the Spanish culture. Any ideas would be appreciated. Oh, and did I mention that I need the topic by tomorrow morning...?
