I'm living in a city about an hour away from Barcelona and have to be home on weekdays. I was wondering if there are any Spanish courses on the weekends in Barcelona that I could go to.
My family has just moved to Panama where they speak Latin American Spanish. I'm trying to find a free, online course that teaches this, but all I can seem to find is straight Spanish courses. I have Rosetta Stone and it's ok, it's just not as helpful for me as what I'm needing. Does anyone know of any free, online Latin American Spanish courses that I can take?
I mean do you have to be fluent in spanish right when you enter a university to be able to get a spanish major? I want to be a spanish teacher and I am not completely fluent in spanish yet will this be a problem at a university? Has there been many people who don't know spanish fluently when they get into a university but then become spanish teachers? Are spanish courses in a university terribly difficult?
sorry for all the question but please I need help
I've looked around and so far the only 5-week online Spanish courses from an accredited college is University of Phoenix. Because of some technicalities, I can't take the course I want, but am looking for any other online courses that would meet this requirement. Thanks

So by the end of this year, I will have been done AP French, which is the highest level of French that my school offers.
I'm also going to take AP Mandarin, which wouldn't be so hard for me, since I'm Chinese and alreay know some.
Also, I can understand spoken Thai and speak a little (with an accent) because I lived there for some years as a kid.
I'm wondering if I should take Spanish or not next year. I live in Canada, where there is almost no Spanish speakers around. I'm also afraid that if I start learning it, I might just end up learning for 1~2 years then forget everything. In that case, it would be a total waste of time. And please don't tell me to take Spanish courses after high school. I'm going to learn Mandarin until a very high level for sure, and my French is pretty good (5 years of learning, with the first 2 years in a very intensive program) so if I were to continue an additional language it will probably be French. Also, I'm not planning to major in languages, so its not like I'd be learning languages all day.
On the other hand, I heard that Spanish is pretty easy to learn, so it would be great if I can pick up another language without putting in too much effort.
So...should I learn Spanish or not?
I really like learning languages so I was wondering how many French courses and Spanish courses would I need to take in university in order to teach it in the secondary level (high school) I live in Canada so it would in Ontario for example.
Great Johnathon W, quick question. Is spanish or french your nativr language or did you learn it through school? I want to know if it is possible to become one since those languages are not my native language (english is). Also what was required for your state? Thanks.
I am not taking Spanish courses in high school and I'd like to know if I'll have to take them in college if I want to become a high school math or english teacher?
All answers are appreciated, thanks!
I took 2 spanish courses and that is what is required for my major. I don't want to waste any more time taking more courses. I don't want to learn it and I don't need to.
So I often read people on this section claiming that spanish is easier than french, portuguese, english, etc..... how did they reach this conclusion? some of these people don't even speak spanish, so I really don't know what are they talking about.
I'm german, and I speak french as second language.... for the last 2 years I've been taking spanish courses, and my conclusion is that spanish is a very difficult language, I think spanish is a lot harder to learn than french or any other language.
I'm taking Spanish courses (about fourth year of Spanish) and I heard that watching telenovelas in Spanish really helps people. I was wondering if some people could suggest some good ones for me, and if they have subtitles. Also, if any of them come on the TV, what channels and stuff?
Thanks so much ! : )
So when I was in grade 1 I was in a Spanish immersion school unt il grade 4. And then I moved and I am going into grade 9. If I take Spanish courses in high school, out of school and study it everyday can I be bilingual in it when I turn 18?
I took spanish courses in high school....I know the basis of learning to speak spanish, but I wanna be bi-lingual..I'm 28 how can I learn to speak Spanish
Spanish is such a sexy language and I'm currently taking some Spanish courses at school. I was wondering if there were any movies in particular, even if they were like translated, that would be good for me to watch. If not, I'll probably watch a movie I'm familiar with and just put it in Spanish, and put the subtitles on as well.
How many years of language are in high school? I'm taking Spanish 3 right How many spanish courses do I have after that.
I am already almost fluent in French, but I have absolutely no knowledge of Spanish. I'm an 18-year-old female. I'm planning on taking beginner Spanish courses in university, and I'm going to Spain next summer. What else can I do? Language CDs don't really work for me (I tried learning Romanian with them, and ended up not retaining anything).
I live in Canada.
And can I learn European Spanish for Latin America? I just have no other choice as only European Spanish courses are offered in my country.
"There is NO Latin American Spanish there are many"
Well, that's a good statement. I intend to visit Uruguay.
I have a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with. I am trying to find a good program on-line to learn Spanish. My fiancee is from Puerto Rico and I know that Spanish dialect is different depending on where your heritage is. I really want to learn the proper way to speak Spanish as if I was from Puerto Rico. I am planning a trip to go next year and want to be able to have a nice conversation with his family. Most Spanish courses around here seem to just generalize the whole Spanish language. And you sound like your talking from a text book. I don't want to be like "hello, I am ..... What is your name?" I don't talk like that here in Connecticut. I'm looking for more everyday lifestyle talk I don't want to sound like a book. Can any one PLEASE help me?
I apologize for my misspelling. I was simply looking for a web site that taught Spanish, leaning toward Puerto Rican way of life. Seeing how my BOYFRIEND was born in raised in Puerto Rico and not a "transplant" And his family still resides there I fugured it would be nice to be able to converse with them. And that fact that I live in the city and a vast majority of people here speak spanish it would be nice to know. Thanks for the help. I'll never ask a question again.
I would have to double up one year but if I did Spanish level 6 I would be bilingual by the time I graduate high school. Anyway, would I take the Spanish in college anyway or should I double up one year and do two spanish courses in one year? I'm only taking 3 electives during my high school year so I just get down to one electives and do spanish? Thanks!
Unfortunately, as a freshman in high school I did not take Spanish. However this year as a sophomore I took Spanish one due to the fact that I feel when I am out of high school my career choice may require me being fluent in Spanish. I am wondering if I can get caught up and ahead of the game by taking Spanish courses in the summer. I would finish Spanish 1 this year, then take Spanish 2 over the summer, Spanish 3 next year, as a junior, then over the summer Spanish 4. Then my senior year I will take AP Spanish. Hopefully I will be very comfortable with the language by then.
Has anyone ever done something similar to this, that can help me out? How much do the courses cost, how much of your day does the class take up, ext. Thanks.
Where can I find regionally accredited Spanish courses online? I need Spanish 1, 2, and 3 but haven't been able to locate any online.
Yeah, so, my ex who I was madly in love with years ago married my once best friend. When parting, they would say T.Q.M. She was taking spanish courses and he spoke spanish fluently. They made allusions to it being a spanish term as well. Does anyone know what this might mean?
I'm actually taking some intensives spanish courses and I'm seeking for spanish movies subtitled in english! Tks.
I'm from Canada and want to take Spanish courses. Will I learn the Spanish from Spain or the Latin America one? Which one is easier understood around the world?
I am looking to study Spanish online, since I live currently in a Spanish-speaking country where availability of decent Spanish courses is limited. I want to study grammar at an intermediate level, doing language and writing exercises. Since I have plenty of opportunity to practice speaking, I am fine with the "textbook" nature of an online course: without a teacher and fellow students.
I would greatly appreciate hearing from people who have actually taken one of these classes, not from someone who just googles "online spanish study", because I can do that myself and have. The problem is that I receive lots of advertisements for Spanish study. Thank you in advance for a thoughtful response!!!
I don't mind paying for a good course.
There's Spanish 101 and I heard of Spanish 103 but what do the numbers mean? And how many of them? Can somebody list/tell me all the Spanish courses in college?
I am trying to find an online school that has spanish courses or a spanish degree. Can anyone recomend a school?
Thanks
If someone could refer me to a legitimate, reputable language school or course given in locations where Spanish is the main language, it would be much appreciate. I would also like to know, from those who have taken such courses, which location they recommend (ex. Spain, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, etc.).
Thank you!
Cupcake - thank you for your answer. However, when I try the website, all I see are characters in another language and no information on Spanish courses.
Hi I've been learning Spanish for nearly a year, and this summer I'm planning to continue learning this language, the question is that I live in London and there are many spanish courses near me, but would that be useful to me knowing that this is not a spanish country?
