I'm just curious. I do not understand why they need to take it. It is their first language, therefore, they already know how to speak it. I see many hispanics who speak Spanish as a first language, taking the Spanish course and they have no problems with it. I'm taking Spanish because I love learning languages and no, it is not my first language. It is my third.
Thank you for your kind answers!!!!
I just started a second-year, fourth-semester Spanish course. It's my last class before my Bachelor's degree, and I need a good Spanish-to-English voice recognition app. One where I can play a clip in Spanish and it will translate it back to me in English. Any suggestions?
I am debating whether or not to take a beginner Spanish course online through my college. I have never had spanish before, and want to start learning.
Is it better to take in an actual class, (to get the experience hearing and speaking it with other people) or online?
Is it harder to do online without a teacher right there correcting you as you go along?
Thank you for helping me with this issue!!
Im going into the medical feild and i want to take up a spanish course before i graduate next year...long story short i dont know any spanish and i wanted to take up elementary spanish to help me out a little
So I'm starting on a dual French and Spanish degree course at Leeds University this September and really don't know what to expect.
I love languages and so far I have always got A's and A*'s but I was a little freaked out when I saw all the reading lists and heard that particularly the Spanish course is fully communicated in Spanish
I'm willing to put the work in and I naturally do work at home in both languages on a daily basis but it just seems very scary :/
Any advice/tips or just reassurance would be appreciated!
I am taking a Conversational Spanish course in College. 75% of the class has already had a prior Spanish class. I feel so disadvantaged, and I wish the class would slow down! Any ideas?
So I'm taking a BYU 1st year Spanish course (people say it's bad cause you need to learn how to pronounce the words, but they come with CD's that help you along..) and I'm kind of concerned about my final exam..
Through out the whole course, they would always include words in a sentence or phrase that I didn't know (they never taught it). They would show me the translation, but there's always things like that where they just assume that we know something.
Any ways, to get to my question, has anyone ever taken this? And if so, was the final exam that way?
Just an edit, from the first answer..
I couldn't take a class from teachers. We have a small school, and there was a required class I needed during the Spanish1 hr. And since they had Spn1, they're only going to have Spanish 2 next year, my senior year, so if you can understand why I had to take a BYU course.
I took the exam last year and received a 5 in it even though I did not take the AP Spanish Language course, I was in a regular Spanish course.
Will this matter at all to colleges?
College course assignment--Need a 10-15 slide PowerPoint for a mini CBT Lesson that can be developed & presented as a high school level Spanish course lesson plan.
I will be taking a Spanish course next semester and I am going to start self teaching before then. Unfortunately I do not know anyone who speaks Spanish. I was hoping someone could refer me to some Spanish music artists that I would be able to easily understand. In other words, no fast rap. I find that Shakira is slow enough for me to understand.
I am into all kinds of types of music, just no hardcore rap, or religious.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Last summer, I took intensive Spanish in college. I finished a year's worth of Spanish in 2 months. Now, I am intermediate Spanish and will be almost finished with taking classes. I am studying abroad in Spain this June, and I will likely take an advanced Spanish course.
Do you think this is enough experience to get around Spain okay? I look at this scenario and question myself sometimes that I feel ready to study abroad in such a short amount of time.
I've finished my french course. And i've just got delf for A2. And i need to take spanish course, so i can go to my brother's in argentina next year. But i can only afford 1 course
Should i continue or change to spanish course?
Is it easier to learn spanish after mastering french than before mastering it?
Thank you.
I have consistent 90s throughout high school in all of my courses. I was just wondering would this one average in my Spanish course in middle school which is a 69, destroy my chances at Ivy league. Right now I take college level Spanish and I have a 92 average so will this help.
A 92 average in the Spanish course I meant.

Nobama I have lived here in the (American USA) for 40 Years and have done just fine only knowing the one and only American language (English). So I ask all you Blind Nobama supporters, why does the undercover muslim Nobama say my kids better learn Spanish?
Opps I got it all wrong. LOL
He said:
You need to make sure your kids can speak Spanish
Coming from a demarcate I will take that as he means must..
But back to question:
Nobama just why do I need to make sure my kids can speak any language other than English? It is the only language needed no make it here in USA. You never hear people in other countries say I will be going to the US Next Month I guess I better go take a Spanish course.
I am 15 years old and just finishing grade 9. Over the summer I would like to learn lots of Spanish. What would be some ways to do that. I am taking a Spanish course next year. It is too late for me to become fluent in Spanish?
For example, should your notes for a Spanish course be in Spanish or English, or a combination of both?
This is an advanced Spanish Literature class.
I'm in University and I plan on taking an introduction to Spanish course next year.
I took French in High School and did well (I got in the 90s) and my first language was Italian.
So I'm assuming it will be easy for me to learn Spanish, especially an intro course?
Other than an advanced Language Arts course and a Spanish course?
I have just been posted to Madrid for a year and would like to learn Spanish. Am looking to invest in a good spanish course which I can learn at home on my own time. Please recommend some courses that I can consider. Thank you.
I would like to learn Spanish. Im 12 years old so difficult would not be a good idea, I really would like to learn spanish as quickly as possible.
Whats the best free online spanish course?
I have found Livemocha to be the best "free" online Spanish course on the web. I have completed all of their lessons and was wondering if anyone knows of any others that are comparable to Livemocha.
I would really love to learn the Spanish language...but unfortunately, I do not have the money right now to spend on expensive classes or language programs like rosetta stone.
I know it is somewhat of a long shot but I was hoping that maybe someone out there knows of a free spanish course that I could take online?
Thank you all so much!
God Bless!!

I want a site that can take me from the beginning to, well teach me a lot. I just started taking a Spanish course but I'm terrible at it and I want to get better at it (yeah I know it's hard to learn a new language and it takes time so don't bother telling me that 'cause I already know).
Ive just enrolled at my new sixth form and wanted to do a spanish A -level, but it clashed with my other courses, so Im not doing it at sixth form any more, which sucks. But my adviser said its possible to take it up next year and get a spanish AS level. in the meantime, i want to take a spanish course outside sixth form to keep up with my spanish ready for next year. Are there any good websites or programs you know that could help me?
Thanks(:
I'm half-Dominican, but my father wasn't able to to teach me Spanish when I was younger. I'm a junior in high school right now and taking a Spanish course, but I want to learn more. What's the best way to learn the language fluently and quickly?
I'm thinking of taking a beginners Spanish course at university. Is it a hard language to learn? Do people tend to pick up the basics quickly?
I can only speak English. Although, I did a little bit of German a while back.
Can you share your experience of learning Spanish?
Ok im thinking of dropping my Spanish class to take some other technology courses offered by my high school. My DDP(drawing and design for production) said that i would be able to drop Spanish for other classes involving technology. He also said that technology is seemed to be used more and more in the newer job fields. So should i drop Spanish to study these other classes? He said that these classes would still allow me to graduate and not need the Spanish course.
I'm in a college intro to Spanish course and for our project, we have to do a 3-5 minute talk in Spanish on someone/something that has to do with the Spanish culture. Any ideas would be appreciated. Oh, and did I mention that I need the topic by tomorrow morning...?
