because my company is sending me to South America for three months. Also, I want to make sure the Spanish I learn is the Spanish they speak in Latin America. I think it is different from in Spain. What is the best way to learn how to speak Spanish for my situation?
I have lived in Spain fo 4 1/2 yeas and have lessons for 2 of those, but I live in a British populated area and very rarely get chance to practice my Spanish.
Has anyone else struggled with languages and what did you do to retain what you have learnt.
I do have lots of internet courses and CD's
I went to Sevilla,Spain with my black friend, and people would stare at my friend giving her mean gestures. One time a spaniard was serving us some food and was talking in spanish and we over heard the name "ne.gra".I heard in many parts in South America and Cuba b/c of the european spanish influence many of them don't want to mix with black people...How sad, I thought Spain was more advanced.
Man u is playing millan tonight and iv only got spanish tv so can you tell me what channel and time it is on in spain

Shouldn't their national language be German?
And why do they have Spanish last names? They also look like they just moved from Spain, not Germany.
I need to learn spanish because I am spending the summer in Spain, which is in about 5 months. I know basics like colors, certain expressions, days and months. Will I be able to learn it in time? I also have the advantage of having 2 native Spaniards and someone from El Salvador, all fluent in spanish. Can I swing it? Also any good workbook titles or programs I should try?
I would like to talk in Spanish in Spain with as little American accent as possible and sound as much like the native Spaniards as possible. Any suggestions, please? Thank you.
Those are all so good. I don't know how I'm going to choose a best answer.
Also what exactly is Basque? Is it a state in spain or france or what? I am having a hard time understanding what it is considered.
I'm planning to go to Spain for a couple of months to study Spanish and was wondering which of the four would be the most fun (but not way too expensive) to stay in;
Malaga
Sevilla
Barcelona
Cadiz
How is the night life in those cities?
Thanks in advance
I'm planning to study abroad and trying to decide between Spanish, French, and Italian. Learning two languages is also an option.
Given that you had the option of learning Spanish in either Spain or Argentina, French in France, and Italian in Italy (of course. lol) which one (or two) would you choose to learn and why.
Thanks in advance
"This type of music is almost always accompanied by dancing and is very dramatic"
"This style is also accompanied by a special type of dance"
"An instrument that is associated with Spanish music is the guitar. Guitar music is very popular in Spain, by itself or with lyrics."
"During the 1970's and 1980's......" (as in, how do you SAY 1970's and 1980's in Spanish).
I couldn't believe it. in my city in california there was a recent change that i do not agree with. The people working at the bus terminal usually announce the bus line that has arrived so that people know and can get into the bus they need. But just recently they began to say it also in spanish. VERY VERY stupid. Numbrs from 1 to 20 should not be hard for any spanish speakers and specially since the spanish speakers here who are mexicans have lived here for years, spanish speakers from spain or europe are likely to already know english,, that's not even asking the people to learn english. it's just 20 numbers. I think it's the fault of the dumb bus station or government for that useless nonsense change. It's just making hispanics not want to learn english, cause they don't need it . I'm hispanic mexican and i can't believe they had to have translation for 20 numbers.
I think it would be funny and weird and stupid if someone learned the english spoken in southern states like carolina or alabama etc (redneck accent)
But I wonder if its the same in Spain? Is it stupid for someone who is not born and raised in Sevilla to attempt to adopt the sevillan accent? & does the sevillan accent sound uneducated or have a negative image among spaniards like how in the USA the southern accent of the southern states has sort of a redneck image uneducated image to it?
What are the best ways to learn a language + what language should i start learning next? I speak 4 languages atm. German (cos my dad is Austrian) + Shona (i grew up in Zimbabwe) + English + Spanish (i live n go to school in spain) fluently.. so what should i learn next? I
I'm interested in learning how to speak Dominican Spanish the way it is spoken in the Dominican Republic. I saw something with Rosetta Stone. They have two versions of it. One was for spanish that's spoken in Spain. The other was for Latin America. However, the Dominican Republic is part of the carribbean. So where would I be able to find the best Domincan spanish I can find? Pleas help me!
,people speak basque as their first language. This is one reason many people in the basque region believe they should separate from spain and become an independent country.Which would be an argument of supporters of this idea? A.Boundaries once settled should remain in place. B.Economic considerations will promote national unity. C.Political boundaries should reflect cultural characteristics. D.Natural boundaries should determine political boundaries.
Hello!
Well, I am mexican and I always have wondered that. You may know that spanish has different pronunciations, in Spain the 's', 'z' and 'c' aren't pronounced in the same way, in Mexico they do.
So, do you learn spanish with mexican pronunciation?
Thank you!!!
I want to study Spanish abroad, but I don't know which country to go to! Every country seems so beautiful to me!! Have you ever been to a Spanish-speaking country for a good amount of time? Which continent or country would you recommend?
I wanted to go to either;
Puerto Rico (Ok, I know it's not a country. lol)
Dominican Republic
Argentina
Venezuela
Cuba
Spain
I've never even been to any of these places though, so I really don't have a clue. It doesn't have to be a country from the list I gave above, just tell me what your opinion is plz
Thanks in advance
Please Mexican spanish only, not Spain or South American Spanish.

I've noticed that more Europeans learn French and Italian, but I've seen less French and Italian people who learn Spanish. Is it because Spain still has a king? I mean, Spain's by those countries, so why not learn Spanish? Is Spanish the "uncool" European language now?
I´m currently in Spain on an intensive Spanish course as part of my gap year. My current plans are to study Spanish straight to the end of June. I´m considering changing my plans to, instead of having 30 weeks of spanish, to having 15 weeks of Spanish and 15 weeks of French.
Which do you think is better, fluency in Spanish or knowing both French and Spanish to an intermediate level from a business career sense? Which option would be more useful?
Thanks for the help!!!
I am trying to say that even though I study Spanish Literature I do not want to go to Spain with the Erasmus. But will I have to? Is it impossible to go to England for example? I know, it might sound stupid but please do not judge me for that. I just wish to know whether I can, since the university will not give enough information on the program now.
Thank You In Advance.
I was wondering...
Does Latin America and Spain speak the same way or is it a different dialect; sort of like America and UK?
I always had this doubt
I love the spanish

Okay so I was wondering would I be able to study abroad because of my nursing major? is nursing different in different countries? I looked on the colleges that I applied to and they dont have a study abroad program where I can do my public health in Spain. It is my dream to go to there and become fluent in spanish. Should I just not study abroad?
