**Please note that my Spanish class in learning Spanish as it is spoken in Mexico and the surrounding countries, not Spain. I know there are some differences. Thanks.
How would you write these sentences in Spanish?
"She was lost in the forest."
"The woman comforted her."
"The wild ox tried to fight."
"They named the dresses after her."
"Nobody knew they were going to get married."
Thank you so much!
Please no translators, like Google Translate.
@CutiePie21, I just said I didn't like translators... right up there ^
I was so overwhelming in college that I barely got anything out of it and barely passed. It has been bothering me since, and I really wanted to be good at it, but I figured there has got to be different ways to learn. It'll probably be better for me to learn now because this time it won't be pushed and forced to learn at a certain time. And..I can't afford to go to Spain lol
Hi there!
My native tongue is the spanish already but i wanted to know if when trying it you looked in trouble, and what was the problem.
thanks in advance, here at spain i'm studying the problems that english speakers find in our language.
I am planning on spending the summer in a Spanish speaking country in an intensive immersion type Spanish learning program. (Now, please don't just google and throw instant researched answers... I can do that myself. Please only answer if you have real concrete EXPERIENCE with this.) I would like to know what experiences people have had, negative and positive to help me examine my possibilities. I am leaning toward Salamanca but open to countries other than Spain as well. Thank you in advance for all your help!
I have done 2 year in the USA in college and now I want to study in Spain but I don't want to take Selectividad. What do I need to do?
"You-all need to study your Spanish. Those students in the other class don't need to study Spanish. They are studying French. You-all can practice Spanish in Spain. They can practice French in France."
I would like the translation in the vosotras form
Please dont give me the dialect excuse. When a british person speaks to me, I can understand them, that is a dialect. A dialect is an accent, nothing more. Spaniards in SPAIN cannot understand most mexicans when they speak. I know this from personal experience having been to Madrid every summer since 2000 and that is what they have said, spaniards say not to call it spanish because its not spanish, its mexican. But even when you watch Mexican tv here, it looks more like a circus than it does programs. People wearing odd clothes and everything. Spanish is a beautiful language and Spain is a beautiful country with awesome culture, so why is it when mexicans talk it sounds like a bunch of chickens fighting?
I have a presentation I need to do for my Spanish class and I need to talk about some interesting geography in any Spanish-speaking country (Mexico, Spain, El Salvador, etc.). I tried to google it, but it kind of talks about the mountains, etc. etc.
Is there anything REALLY interesting about any country's geography so I can make my presentation more interesting? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I am studying in spanish in Spain for four months. I have had only 4 months of beginning Spanish in college. Before I used flash cards to help with vocabulary. Does anyone have any tips on remembering irregular verbs and their conjugations? I thought about putting Tener (Present) on one side and then TengoTienes.... on the other side.
I am useing a simple pocket dictionary with a copy of Barron´s 501 Verbs book. I am looking for a really good Spanish/English Dictionary that is a good value for the buck.
¡Hola!
I'm 15 years old, and I'm from Florida, USA. I'm a freshmen and going to be a sophomore. My GPA is 3.97 and I take Spanish I. I'd like to take a course in Spain over the summer that will give me a one years credit of Spanish II that way for my Sophomore year I can take Spanish III, and French I. I love learning new languages. This is something I wanna do. Money isn't an issue. I've got parental permission and blessing. I just need to find the right program. I want to go to Madrid, and get my Spanish II credit and learn as much as possible over the summer. Obviously I would be staying in a dorm? or what? What's a great program for highschoolers? I'm thinking about Enforex... what do you think about that. Also, I like to be in the city- and I play alot of tennis, so if there are any schools where I can play tennis (on the side and not necessarily required, just a "what if") wheres the best place? educational wise, luxury wise? safe wise? everything. Thanks so much. Muchas gracias. ¡Ustedes son magnífico!
Last summer, I took intensive Spanish in college. I finished a year's worth of Spanish in 2 months. Now, I am intermediate Spanish and will be almost finished with taking classes. I am studying abroad in Spain this June, and I will likely take an advanced Spanish course.
Do you think this is enough experience to get around Spain okay? I look at this scenario and question myself sometimes that I feel ready to study abroad in such a short amount of time.
hi everyone, i want to speak with a SPAIN spanish accent. not like normal spanish. i'm mexican, but i dont speak english with an accent. but i want to speak like rafael nadal, like a spain spanish accent. if you have a web link or a video that could help me, thanks
I'm trying to practice my Spanish as well as talk to them in their language, but I don't want to come off as overstepping my boundaries or being rude. I always do so very mildly ( I would never try to use slang or anything) and gently with a smile. But, I don't want them to be offended or anything.
What do you think?
Actually, when I was in Spain, and the people responded to my Spanish with English, I didn't like it because I felt they were saying, "Here, let me help you in your language because you're not proficient in mine". I don't want to make anybody feel that way.
I have tried Coffeebreak Spanish and I liked the format but it is based on Spanish used in Spain, I would like something more for Mexico. Any help?
Preferably dialect from Spain as opposed to Hispanic dialect, if there is even a difference.
I want to do some type of language learning abroad this summer preferably in Spain. I have an early intermediate level knowledge of the the language. I am 22 so I don't particularly want to be with only high school students. I am looking for something like EF language learning programs but I don't know if I want to go for that one because I have heard mixed reviews. Any suggestions?
Which country's accent is the best to have if you are studying Spanish?
From what I understand, each country and region has its own accent in Spanish. Which accent sounds the best, among the opinion of Spanish speakers? Does the accent from Spain sound nice? What about Puerto Rico?
Everyone in my family always says to me "You speak Spanish like an Italian". When I say "what does that mean?" they reply "I don't know, you just speak Spanish like an Italian person would".
I am not Italian, though, I am a Spanish (from Spain) American. I have recorded myself speaking Spanish and it doesn't sound odd to me.
What could they mean?
I've been studying French for two years, but I'm tired of it and would like to switch to something new. I am going to medical school after I graduate, so I would like to choose a language that will be useful as a doctor, as well as fun to learn. I'm trying to decide between Chinese (useful and unusual, but an entirely different system of writing to learn) and Spanish (useful when I visit Spain - which I really want to do someday - but a little boring in the meantime).
Have you studied either of these languages? Any suggestions?
Thanks B. I should say that, although I'm pretty decent with languages - I learned the elvish languages from Lord of the Rings one summer when I was a little kid - I don't want to take a class that will require a lot of focus. I'd rather save the stress for chemistry and biology...
I live in New York, and I would like to learn Spanish. Would I be better off learning Spain Spanish or Latin American Spanish? How big is the difference between the two?
I need to be able to talk to my spanish teacher on the phone could you tell me how to say some of these things?
"I have a few questions for you: Is it too late for me to sign up for spain? I really want to go! What is the cost? Also, next summer I plan on going to a spanish speaking country as an au pair, this coming school year could you give me extra things to do so I am ready for this? Also, could I be like a student ambassador for the new spanish speaking students?"
PS I know how to say most of these things I just want it to sound perfect.
I'm American, and I personally know at least 5 people who've studied abroad in your country; it's an extremely popular destination!
I understand that many of them studied Spanish language in high school or college, and that's what makes it so interesting, but why Spain (instead of say, Mexico)?
I am taking a double degree in International relations/Political science and Law. I live in New Zealand and I plan to be a diplomat. I want to learn a language and cant decide between Italian and Spanish. Italian is my preference but I am aware that more people speak Spanish throughout the world. Which would you reccomend? Or I could take one language for the first 3 years of college and a second in my last two years. I am also considering going on an exchange during my second year of college .. would you reccomend south america, spain or Italy.
Thankyou
I know that the standard dialect of French is that of France, so it only makes sense that Americans choose to learn it from them. But they learn the Spanish spoken in Mexico, at least the one taught in schools. Why not from Spain? I know that Mexico is closer, but so is Canada, and Americans don't learn Canadian French.
I'm working with a partner in our intermediate level spanish class at a university. Our professor told us that we have to do a 5 minute oral presentation. You wouldn't think that's too bad, but we have no idea what to talk about. I asked if we could do something about theatre in Spain or Spanish golden age theatre. She said that that would be too ambitious for us. But we can't talk about anything like The Day of the Dead. Me and my partner are all out of ideas. I'm a theatre major and she's an english major. What can we talk about?
I have moved back from Spain to Scotland after many years living there and want to continue watching Spanish programmes (antena 3, tele 5, tve 1 ). Are these channels available on satellite and what would it cost to set up ? Thanks in advance
Is there a huge difference between Latin American Spanish and Spain Spanish? I'm trying to learn to speak Spanish and my fiance picked up Spain Spanish. Are there huge difference between the two? Thanks.
I have wanted to go to Spain for years and study Spanish since it is my minor.
Almost all of the programs I have looked at say I need to be accepted into a study abroad programs BEFORE I can apply for grants/scholarships. But 100% of these programs require deposits of 0-,500 before you can register.
My question is this; Does anyone know a legitimate funding program for college students to study abroad, that awards you pre-acceptance?
Thanks!
