I am asking because I am considering buying Rosetta Stone, they have two different versions of Spanish, the Spain version and Latin America. Thanks in advance for your replies!

Im learning roseta stone's latin america spanish. and I just had a couple questions Im hoping someone who's fluent or native to the language can help.

First, Im a little confused when your suppose to add 'endo' on to the end of a word. like leyendo.

and my last question is: I've noticed that when Im learning to speak or read in spanish some things sound as if Im saying it backwards when Im translating it in english in my head. I cant think of any good examples of the top of my head but Im sure someone who speaks both english and spanish has some idea what Im talking about. Im sure learning english sounds backwards at times to a native spanish speaker. Is there some sort of guideline out there I can follow so I know Im speaking in the correct order/form? because I don't want to speak spanish in an english form and have a native spanish speaker be like 'why is he talking so strange.' get what Im saying?
(and please no smart ass comments. Im trying to learn and understand this)

Italian and French are consider languages of love and sophistication. Spanish, in the USA, is often viewed as the language of the illegals. Do you think a greater percentage of Americans would embrace Spanish if we could just get over all the negativity associated with Latin America or illegal immigrants?

I lived in San Antonio for sixteen years, and now I live in EL Paso. There is absolutely no real desire (among Americans) to acquire the Spanish language, why?

What is the most principal difference between Spanish and English languages? I'm going to move to Latin America and have NO idea how I will communicate with people . Do they understand basic english?
My own language is russian (yet am not a russian ), but it wasn't hard for me to learn english though it took many years. Now my task is to learn spanish in a month ...? Is this real? anyone wants to help me with this?

I am 16 and from the USA. Where i live, most people speak English and Spanish. I know alot of Spanish, but certain things like all the irregular verbs and verb forms other than what i know seem confusing to me. I am only learning Spanish because of where i live, but i never plan on going to latin america or anything. There are actually other languages i am more interested in. Is it that i am too stupid to learn another language or is it that maybe i am not 100% interested in Spanish and might do better in another language? Thanks!:)

My family is from Latin America so I know that those beautiful schools, plazas and cathedrals aren't everywhere.

I'm considering studying abroad in Belize. I'm considering Galen University in particular. Have you ever been to Belize, or studied there? Would I be better off going somewhere that speaks Spanish? I'm minoring, but my spoken Spanish is very bad, and I'm nervous about taking classes in Spanish. I'm also double majoring in International Studies (Latin America) and Anthropology.

I was planning to talk about certain food (what they're like, what they're made of and how they're made and all that stuff) in Latin America, and maybe focus on El Salvador, because I lived there before.... But I'm not so sure if that's topic's too simple.

My family is from Latin America so I know that those beautiful schools, plazas and cathedrals aren't everywhere.

because my company is sending me to South America for three months. Also, I want to make sure the Spanish I learn is the Spanish they speak in Latin America. I think it is different from in Spain. What is the best way to learn how to speak Spanish for my situation?

I'm interested in learning how to speak Dominican Spanish the way it is spoken in the Dominican Republic. I saw something with Rosetta Stone. They have two versions of it. One was for spanish that's spoken in Spain. The other was for Latin America. However, the Dominican Republic is part of the carribbean. So where would I be able to find the best Domincan spanish I can find? Pleas help me!

And can I learn European Spanish for Latin America? I just have no other choice as only European Spanish courses are offered in my country.
"There is NO Latin American Spanish there are many"
Well, that's a good statement. I intend to visit Uruguay.

My family is from Latin America so I know that those beautiful schools, plazas and cathedrals aren't everywhere.

I was wondering...

Does Latin America and Spain speak the same way or is it a different dialect; sort of like America and UK?

I don't want to go to Spain, I cant stand how they speak Spanish, I was thinking somewhere in Latin America maybe

Where in Latin-America should I go to study Spanish?
It should have warm weather and be relatively safe.

I thought about Nicaragua en Costa Rica, but dropped both for various reasons. I don't necessarily have to go to a big city. I'm quite charmed by small towns as well.

Please give me your recommendation.

1. to a good friend of yours( I've tried tu and ella..but got them wrong)

2. in Latin America, to several friends (i've tried nosotros and vosotros, got them wrong)

PLEASE HELP

They have a Spanish from (Spain) and a Spanish system from (Latin America)... I'm confused about which one to get ....what is the difference? My mom is Mexican so I want to speak it the way she does so which one would that be? Thank you!
Some people might say "Have your mom teach you" but we don't talk anymore because of her new man.... so she can't :( ...

I'm from Canada and want to take Spanish courses. Will I learn the Spanish from Spain or the Latin America one? Which one is easier understood around the world?

I want to learn Spanish mainly to talk to Mexican people.I was thinking of using Rosetta Stone (which brings me to another question - is Rosetta Stone reliable?) but they only offer Spanish (Spain) & Spanish (Latin America) (question #3 which is closer to Mexican Spanish Latin America, or Spain's spanish?).But the point is, would either of those be efficient for talking to Mexicans? And if so how much?

I would like to study Spanish language in Latin america , i need a good web site about that .

I am looking for a free online Speak Spanish learning program (latin america) that you "do not" have to pay for or do a free trial...I also don't want a program that is free at first and then you have to pay later. Do you know of a site/program? Thank you. =]

I'm going to Puerto Rico in august and I want to learn spanish, so I have decided to buy the rosetta stone spanish cd pack but they have two different packs. There is Spanish(Spain) and Spanish(Latin American) Which one should i get? Latin America right?

I mean we don't have to but it seems more and more importent for us to learn Spanish since they are coming from the south and pushing North. I'm kind of learning the language right now so. But I'm wondering why should we teach ourselves spanish. Why son't they just learn english if they want to come here so bad. If I was going to Latin America for what ever reason I'd just learn spanish for my own and their benifit. Immigration needs to be controlled before America is destroyed.
I agree Crystal, it's too bad political corectness keeps people from even voiceing their opinion
the reason why the number of spanish speaking people has grown is becuase over the last 2 decades they jumped the borders and all had 40 kids.
we should all listen to shelton he's a smart guy
I blame employers also for using jobs as bate for them to run over here. Everyone wants a worker for half price. These people need to either learn english or leave.

iam confused, which langugage to pick, chinese(mandarin) or spqnish.

I don't read much Spanish. I'm trying to buy a gift subscription for my nephew with topical content and relevant vocabulary. I couldn't navigate the El Diario NY website well enough to find out if I could buy a weekly subscription; Newsweek has a Latin America version, but it's not available for delivery to US addresses. If I can manage to buy online with a credit card, that would be a plus - but any help at this point is appreciated.

I have a great desire to learn Spanish (Latin-America). I looked at Rosetta Stone, but do not like what I read on Amazon about it. I would like to learn while driving to/from work and have computer software for learning at home. Does anyone have any experience with a good program (I heard Rocket might be good, looking for confirmation or a better program), thanks!
