I decided to learn italian because I consider that it's a very sexy(exotic) language and spanish because a lot of people are speaking spanish in America, plus it cannot hurt me to know and speak fluently 4 languages.
I already speak 2 other languages.

Thank you!
Currently I speak romanian (my native language)which is very close to italian and spanish and english for the last 6 years.

Im learning spanish now... after that i want to learn japanese since some of the same rules apply.

i want to learn more than just 2 languages so i can be a lil diff. you know. not the average joe who only speaks english.

I am buying a laptop before I begin college. These are the languages in which I must type: English, Spanish, German, Russian, Latin, and Old English. I also would like the ability to easily access the characters of the International Phonetic Alphabet, Sanskrit characters, and Greek characters.
Which laptop has the keyboard that permits typing in the greatest number of these languages? What additional software could I buy to type in these languages more easily and have access to all the characters I need?

i did spanish for a year but cant really remember any of it, would it be a bad idea to do these 2 languages together in college?
would german and spanish be better?

English is a really easy language to learn...Spanish,French is hard. Italian is hard.
Is German hard? what are some of the easiest languages in the world to learn?
I read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently...
which language would be easier for me to learn?

we are studying in class the importants languages in the world

and we study what spanish it is a very important language in usa

I have been practicing about everyday for about 30-50 minutes on a program called Instant Immersion, I just completed the first disk out of the nine. Will it take two years or two months? Also would it be okay to learn two languages at the same time.

It seems that languages other than Spanish are the first to be cut in American secondary schools. ALL languages are important!
Mexico may be our neighbor, but what about Quebec? Furthermore, many African nations are also French-speaking, and then there's the Caribbean country of Haiti. How can high schools who claim in there mission statements to prepare students for a "global society" when they limit them to Spanish?

I'd like to get Rosetta Stone software to learn Dutch but only version 2 is available now. Version 3 is currently available in more "popular" languages like spanish and french (became available 9/28/2007). Does anyone know a date or approximate time when Version 3 will be available in Dutch, I'd like to get the newest version.... but how long will I have to wait? Thanks!!

What's the best way to learn a new language also without forgetting the others?

I know a bit of french & Spanish I would like to learn them both fully also a few other languages too but when I tried to learn french & Spanish for some reason I kept forgetting how to speak in English lol!
Why is that? :S

Thanks!

Hi guys,
I'd like to learn to speak Spanish or Italian.
Are there any good Centers that teach these languages in Egypt?
I'd prefer if they are located in Heliopolis area.

Thanks

I don't know even the basics about the two languages but I'm really keen to learn them. I don't want to follow the stupid apps available online that focus on word usage more. I want to learn right from the basics. Like the ABCs. You could tell me about the books you were made to refer in your primary school if you started studying French/Spanish from that age. TIA.

At the moment I'm trying to learn Spanish, so that I can learn Visayan and ultimately Tagalog a little bit easier (also, Spanish would be a good language to learn).

I was just wondering what other kind of languages would be useful to know in learning OTHER languages, so that I can broaden my foreign language intelligence.

I know the major languages there are Berber, French & English but I'm just wondering coz almost all my many Morrocan friends that I met talk to me in Spanish. In fact one of them prefer to speak in Spanish than the other 3 languages.

I'm writing a book that will have a lot of French dialouge,
I do not have an idea of how to speak it, and I'm in Spanish 3, I heard that if you start learning two languages at the same time you will get confused

But I know enough Spanish to start learning French through Spanish, is this a good or a bad idea?

I am determined to learn both Languages, Ive been trying to study them both at the same time but I found its not helping, so I want to start out by learning one first and then the other.

Which one would be easier to learn first?

Also Spanish is my native language if that helps.

Thanks.

Hello I'm about to go to college for biology, and one of my passions are the wildife of South America, also the culture, and landscape. I am learning Brazilian Portuguese now but I also want to learn Spanish. Would I get the languages mixed up if I learned them at the same time?

So, I'm south american, and I was thinking about learning a foreign language, so I went to google to find out what's an easy language to learn.... well, to my surprise, a lot of people say that spanish is an easy language to learn. I understand an italian or portuguese saying that spanish is easy, since all romance language are quiete similar, specially those 3 languages.... however, I don't understand how can person who doesn't speak any romance language, claim that spanish is an easy language to learn???/ if that was true, why americans complain so much about the idea of learning spanish in school? why I don't see any english or german singers learning the spanish language in order to conquer the latin american market? I mean, if spanish is sooo easy to learn, it would make sense for an artist to learn spanish in order to conquer a market of 25 countries and 300 million people.

I'm in the healthcare field and want to be able to do basic communication and conversation with people of different nationalities. I have an affinity for languages but often companies charge a phenomenal amount of money to teach you. I am a quick study, fast learner and am self-motivated. I just need a starting place, maybe some on-line programs or websites.

Hi
I am just starting out in my teen years, well 13.
I want to learn 4 new languages by the end of college.
I want to learn Arabic, Spanish, French, and Chinese .
What are some good programs or places to got to learn these languages?

i am learning spanish now, and will start learning french next year. how hard would it be to learn romanian and italian once i know those two languages.

We're doing a bucket list, so everything is in future tense.

-I will stop caring about what other people think.
-I will become a photographer.
-I will learn to speak many languages.
-I will visit Europe
-I will discover what life is all about
-I will be on TV
-I will change someone's life for the better.

Some of my family taught themselves how to speak Spanish. (One of them was in the war and ended up learning about 3 other languages). My best friend is from Argentina and speaks Spanish fluently. I don't want to ask them...Is there anything for free online that will teach me the whole language? Is there anything I can buy for a low price? I'm thirteen if that has anything to do with it. Thank you so much!

MY brother in law was transferred to Mexico on business and my niece was just learning to talk. The TV shows was in Spanish and as my sister tried to learn spanish with her record on my niece learned it really fast and later when they went she was speaking spanish like a native. Which helped her throughout her life. Shouldn't we be teaching our babies two languages from child birth on?

I have lived in Spain fo 4 1/2 yeas and have lessons for 2 of those, but I live in a British populated area and very rarely get chance to practice my Spanish.
Has anyone else struggled with languages and what did you do to retain what you have learnt.
I do have lots of internet courses and CD's

I need to take take a college credit for one of these two languages and I can't decide what to take.

I don't really have any real reason to learn any of the languages, I just want to learn another language (or maybe someday a few languages) for fun and maybe to have come in handy someday if I ever want to travel to or live in another country. That's why I'm not sure which language I should put time and effort into to learn.

Spanish level after one year in Argentina?
Hello,

I was hoping i could get some good answers.

I have a job starting in Buenos Aires soon, lasting one year. I have studied spanish on and off for four years (2 years in school, 2 years evening classes). I consider myself decent level yet when i do online assessment tests i generally come out at intermediate(lower) level. Pretty dissapointing but there we go.

My job will be only partly talking in spanish, in the office, needing enough to get by. Mostly i will be talking in english to british clients.

However, i will be likely to have an argentinian girlfriend i have met out there before.

After one year of living in buenos aires, with an ok standard to begin with, what sort of level do you imagine i will have by the end? in general i am fairly good with languages. Any advice welcome....!
