I am an adult who is familiar with grammatical terms (like noun, verb, causative), has taken some Spanish in middle school, and am interested in mostly self-guided study in teaching myself essential vocabulary and grammar as quickly as possible.

What online resources would you recommend?

I'm looking for one for learning Grammar.. a good one with lots of good reviews preferably.

I speak near-fluent French as a second language, and I am trying to learn Spanish. The similarities between the two languages are both helpful and a setback, because i keep reverting to French while speaking Spanish, and sometimes confuse grammar and words, help!

im currently in college taking a spanish class. i feel that it is boring and that I can learn the material on my own. however i was thinking about doing a minor in Spanish. many people tell me that I speak spanish well and that I just need to practice it more. i am a french native speaker however i am a non-native spanish speaker. to be honest I think i have problems only with grammar. but it just that spanish is so important in the US that I feel I should take a class you know? should I just im fluent in Spanish on resume? I mean I understand everything spanish speakers say and they understand. we never have a problem of communication. I need help!!! advice!!! please

I am looking to study Spanish online, since I live currently in a Spanish-speaking country where availability of decent Spanish courses is limited. I want to study grammar at an intermediate level, doing language and writing exercises. Since I have plenty of opportunity to practice speaking, I am fine with the "textbook" nature of an online course: without a teacher and fellow students.

I would greatly appreciate hearing from people who have actually taken one of these classes, not from someone who just googles "online spanish study", because I can do that myself and have. The problem is that I receive lots of advertisements for Spanish study. Thank you in advance for a thoughtful response!!!

please dont use translate because it has bad grammar and translates it as a fragment. any spanish scan u please use your own words to make it a proper sentence in spanish

i have packets, and examples in the book, i tried doing some activities with the grammar in them, but nothing will stick in my head, any good ideas?

I've studied Spanish long time ago when I was in high school. I loved it so much. So I'm thinking may be I should start studying it again. I don't remember anything at all, no grammar, no vocabulary , nothing. So what can I possibly do to master it as quickly as possible. I really get bored if I kept studying and didn't get a noteworthy output.
I want to start writing and speaking like a native speaker but I don't know how?!!

Note: I have this audio book + pdf , I listen to the native speaker reading the article while reading from the pdf. But her accent seems very good. I can never be as good as her. Any idea how to improve my accent too (Please don't tell me to talk to native Spanish speakers because I'm not going to be able to do so, It's all self study)

I get annoyed when I hear people saying that Spanish is the easiest language to learn. Do people think that they can make a Spanish word simply by adding an O at the end of English words? Those who say Spanish is easy because of its simple grammar have obviously never tackled the Spanish preterit tense. It has irregularities that would blow your mind. Spanish might be easier, but it is by no means the easiest. It has 14 tenses, which is more than French and English, and sometimes there are no clear rules on which to use, you just have to go with your gut. Also, have you ever notice how fast Spanish speakers speak? It makes learning to listen very frustrating. I've been learning Spanish for five years, and I still haven't mastered it.

i suck at grammar ( for english and spanish) because i haven't put much effort in learning the classifications and didn't think it would matter because i already speak spanish.

With all this illegal amnesty crap it seems learning English might of been a bad move. What do you think? And yes I'm being ironic.

I was wondering what the easiest way to learn a language is? I have a hard time learning in a classroom. I can memorize words, it's the grammar and structure I have issues with. I also lose interest quickly. Are there certain programs that work better than others? I was thinking that the Rosetta Stone programs might work, but they're SO expensive. Does anyone know if they work as well as they're said to? Or if there's something out there just as good and not as epensive? I would prefer a program that can keep my interest, and also address my issues with grammar and structure.

Finally, should I learn Spanish or German? I want to learn German the most, but I know learning Spanish will be extremely useful soon if I stay in the USA.

I'm a non-native. I have a pretty advanced level and understanding of grammar, but I make lots of careless mistakes. I don't talk as fast as some people, but I can communicate well, really love the language and I would love to show others how to speak it. I have this fear about a student speaking better than I can. Would I make a good teacher?

Ok, no language is easy, admittedly, but I have to say out of all the languages one could learn, Spanish certainly is not the easiest. It's grammatical structure while resonably regular is significantly different to English - people say Spanish is a very regular language but it has enough irregular verbs, werid conjugations, general irregularities to drive someone round the bend.

The main positive things for an second language learner is that Spanish has a relatively easy pronouncation system (although not always), and is resonably phoenetic.

However, in my opinion, it is by no means the easiest language to learn for an English speaker. If you were looking for the easiest language to learn, then I feel that would be the main Germanic Scandinavian languages of Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. Those languages have a grammar strecture that is extremely close to English, the verbs don't generally conjugate and there are far less irregularities than Spanish.

I've never understood this myth about Spanish being easy, in my opinion, it's a complex language riddled with irregularities and annoyances for the second language speaker. It's a beautiful language once you learn it, but it's certainly a bumpy ride to get there, there are easier languages you could pick, in my opinion.

I'm Puerto Rican and i don't know all the spanish i should know. I want to learn but i don't want to take a course at school. I don't want to learn grammar, i want to learn words i should know. I can pronounce words perfectly as i read them, i just don't know what i would be saying.

I've got a final for Spanish 3 coming up this week, and apparently its a final that rarely anyone passes. I'm already failing the class, so i NEED to do well on this final to be able to pass the class. I struggle with memorizing vocabulary, verbs, and grammar. basically everything about the class i struggle with. I learned Spanish from my Mexican mother and from my high school. Now that I'm in college, I'm kind of embarrassed that people who aren't Hispanic have a greater mastery of the grammar, vocabulary and the subtle nuances of the language, and although they might not be able to carry on a conversation in Spanish as easily as I can, I often find myself being corrected. I was hoping if anyone new of a free and easy way that I could brush up on my skills. Thanks.
