I am a 13 year old girl who wants to learn French and/or Italian. However my mom won't get me those learn-language things and the only language I can take at school is Spanish, and the teacher doesn't even know how to speak it. (I know, because some of my classmates speak fluent, proper Spanish and they have to correct her all the time). All I really have is Google Translate and everyone knows that NOTHING comes out right with that.
Hi Guys and Gals, I need your advice or opinions.
I've been trying to learn Spanish here and there for a bout 2 years.
I've picked up a few words and phrases, but I'm not getting to the poing where I can actually hold a 'full conversation' with a Spanish speaker.
Ive been using Google and a few learning Audio CD's. I recently picked up the Tell Me More - Spanish language series 1-9 (beginner to advanced). It's suppose to be better than the Rosetta stone system, but I still think I'm missing something... I'm cosidering taking a formal class at a local college.
My idea is to take a beginner level formal class, then maybe start the Tell me more series in 'Intermediate Mode' to move me to the next level.
What are your feelings on the formal classes vs the language learning systems like Rosetta Stone or Tell Me More?
What do you think about my idea about the formal beginner training, then using the Language systems to move me to the next level?
If I do take a formal class, is there any benefit from takin a class taught by a native speaker, or an American that has studied it for years?
Thanks for your time and input!

How would you say "speaker" - like a speaker you would find in a radio or an amplifier - in Spanish? I tried Google Translate, but I don't know how to differentiate it from a speaker like a person who speaks.
Okay so, a few of my really close guy friends and my boyfriends family are from Puerto Rico and moved to America around four years ago. Sometimes on facebook (yeah, i creep) I really want to know what they're saying when they talk to eachother in Spanish. The way it's translated on google translate makes absolutely no sense and tells me someof the things they are saying aren't words? Huh? Is there a difference between Puerto Rican spanish and the general spanish language?
**Please note that my Spanish class in learning Spanish as it is spoken in Mexico and the surrounding countries, not Spain. I know there are some differences. Thanks.
How would you write these sentences in Spanish?
"She was lost in the forest."
"The woman comforted her."
"The wild ox tried to fight."
"They named the dresses after her."
"Nobody knew they were going to get married."
Thank you so much!
Please no translators, like Google Translate.

I am planning on spending the summer in a Spanish speaking country in an intensive immersion type Spanish learning program. (Now, please don't just google and throw instant researched answers... I can do that myself. Please only answer if you have real concrete EXPERIENCE with this.) I would like to know what experiences people have had, negative and positive to help me examine my possibilities. I am leaning toward Salamanca but open to countries other than Spain as well. Thank you in advance for all your help!

I have a presentation I need to do for my Spanish class and I need to talk about some interesting geography in any Spanish-speaking country (Mexico, Spain, El Salvador, etc.). I tried to google it, but it kind of talks about the mountains, etc. etc.
Is there anything REALLY interesting about any country's geography so I can make my presentation more interesting? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

So, I'm south american, and I was thinking about learning a foreign language, so I went to google to find out what's an easy language to learn.... well, to my surprise, a lot of people say that spanish is an easy language to learn. I understand an italian or portuguese saying that spanish is easy, since all romance language are quiete similar, specially those 3 languages.... however, I don't understand how can person who doesn't speak any romance language, claim that spanish is an easy language to learn???/ if that was true, why americans complain so much about the idea of learning spanish in school? why I don't see any english or german singers learning the spanish language in order to conquer the latin american market? I mean, if spanish is sooo easy to learn, it would make sense for an artist to learn spanish in order to conquer a market of 25 countries and 300 million people.
