I personally find the accents of Mexico and Ecuador to be very clear, whereas the accent in Carribbean countries such as Puerto Rico tends to be more difficult.

What are your experienes, for those of you who have studied Spanish as a second language?

I'm looking into study abroad for about four to five weeks in Ecuador but I don't know much about the country. I would be studying Spanish there. Has anyone studied abroad there and had good or bad experiences?

If someone could refer me to a legitimate, reputable language school or course given in locations where Spanish is the main language, it would be much appreciate. I would also like to know, from those who have taken such courses, which location they recommend (ex. Spain, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, etc.).

Thank you!
Cupcake - thank you for your answer. However, when I try the website, all I see are characters in another language and no information on Spanish courses.

For example does Philips make the AED in a latina america version? or any other company. I need to find an AED for my father in law.. who lives in Ecuador and anyone who might use it on him most likely will not understand the english voice instructions.

I've studied at several and they all suck...Ecuador, Argentina, Costa Rica, Spain, Guatemala.

I want a Spanish school where the teachers aren't only locals, but actually educated with M.A's in education or Spanish language and teachers who acutally have teaching skills and don't only follow a book.

Please, nothing in Mexico (not interested in that accent).

Which college should I go to to learn spanish so i can go to ecuador

I have been selected, along with 20 others at my university, to study Spanish abroad for a semester. I can choose to visit one of the following (excluding Spain which is the obvious choice):

1) Argentina (where my husband is from but I've all ready been there)

2) Dominican Republic

3) Ecuador

4) Peru

5) Portugal (for portuguese)

6) Brazil (portuguese)

7) Costa Rica

Which would you choose, and why?
lmao at the b.i.t.c.h who pointed out I have a big forehead. Thanks for pointing out the obvious! At least I have a real pic. Keep hiding behind your avatar kiddo (and remember to avoid violations stay relevant to the question). :) -Mrs. Forehead

I am going to Ecuador soon and I would like to know some common phrases used in airports and stuff. Btw, I already know "donde está el baño" :)
