Check to see if your speakers have a radio on them
some do… Or maybe its a ghost…. ooooo LOL.
HHAHAHHAAAA wtf are you sure its your computer and not something else in your room
Yes, it’s interference. You’re not the only one. look at this recent post.
NO, its not the FCC.
What happened is that some wires (either internal or external) or even you electrical wiring in your house is picking up a side frequency of that radio station.
Did you move something around near your computer recently?
Also, it can be temporary atmospheric conditions that make this happen.
I’m not trying to be insulting, but has anyone else heard this radio station from your computer besides you? I ask because you could be having audio hallucinations. I have had them before due a side effect of a medication I was taking. (I could hear complete jazz and classical compositions!) Have you tried unplugging your computer? It would seem impossible for sound to emit from your speakers if the power is off.
Its a fairly common problem with poorly shielded consumer electronics when you are close to a powerful transmitter.
The easy (and cheap) solution is to get a couple of ferrite chokes from Radio Shack and wind each of your speaker leads through the choke a few times. One choke per lead should be sufficient.
Most speaker systems these days have a small amplifier located in one of them, and the second speaker is only an empty box with a speaker in it. You are not powering off this speaker system when you turn off your computer so the amp is still running and picking up a spanish broadcasting station which could be either very close to you, or your speaker amp just has a little quirk. To solve the mystery, leave things as they are, and get an AM radio…plug it in and sweep the band until you find the same spanish station. There is your station causing the interference. If you don’t find it, try the FM band…do same thing. failing to find it that way, use a friend’s portable short wave radio to do the same thing…Once you have located the interferring radio station your job is much easier.
The interference is either coming in through the power line or one of the cables to your computer…
A.) You could get a different speaker system for about $25.
This might cure your problem.
B.) See http://www.mfjenterprises dot com
that outfit sells a whole series of little torroids which are powdered metal donuts, and other clip on noise filters in
different shapes which are also made of that same ferrite
material. Get a few different ones and try clipping them
onto your speaker leads or if they are donuts, wind a given speaker lead through the core several times (3 or 4) and see if the problem goes away. It should. The clip on ferrites or the cores present a very high impedance to noise signals riding on cables.
Do you have a ground on anything? Try installing a good ground wire.
