Learn to Speak and Understand Spanish
im thinking bout goin to Chilie for 5 weeks to learn Spanish, I would have 20 lessons of 55 minutes per week ++ i would stay in a host family .
After these 5 weeks, will i be fluent in spanish? my first language is french n i already know the basics

Unless you’re a genius with languages, you wont be fluent after 5 weeks of intensive language classes…
However, French and Spanish have a lot in common so since your first language is French and you already know the basics of Spanish you could reach an intermediate conversational level of Spanish after the 5 week intensive course in Chile.

No. You will not be fluent in Spanish, but you will be well on your way!
It has taken you a life time to know English.
It takes a lot longer than 5 weeks to master another language.
It will be a benefit to stay with the host family.

You would’nt be fluent in Spanish after 5 weeks, but you will have a good start on the language and have people to practice with after you leave, which is important. To be fluent, it would probably take 6 months to a year in a Spanish speaking country, depending on your level of fluency when you go.

5 weeks? I don’t think so. You better carry a spanish software in your laptop to constantly practice. Or even on your mp3 player. Try to search on http://www.spanishsoftwarereviews.org and see what it says there.
