Is it weird to talk to my Spanish teacher about (see details)?
I have never talked to a teacher about anything except grades and tests and stuff like that. But I have been feeling really sad for a few month now, because while I love spanish class and I am doing pretty well in it, I feel like I have a huge problem - pronunciation/understanding. It is even worse that English is my 3rd language, so I have a horrible, ugly, heavy Russian accent, and I talk very fast in Russian so that doesn't contribute to good pronunciation - people understand me, and I have no accent, but I could ideally speak much more clearly. And now, Spanish, the only class i ever spoke in(because we speak in Spanish and no one has to hear my ugly English), the class I loved so much. But now my classmates understand people who have worse Spanish that I do, but don't understand me... It literally makes me cry. I want to talk to my Spanish teacher about it and what I can do and why that happens etc, but I don't know if I should? I mean, she is a good teacher, and seems to be a nice person, but I don't know if it is her job... any thoughts?
i wasn´t going to cry... i mean it´´s more of a language problem than anything else really

Definitely talk with your teacher about it. You can even start out by telling her you’re hesitant to talk about this, but it’s something you really want to address. Another approach–if you think you would be up to it–is catch her after class as people are walking out or whatnot and casually say "hey, I’m struggling with pronunciation, my Russian accent, & etc. and it’s really frustrating me. Can your help me find where I’m going wrong/point out when I could say something more accurate? I would really appreciate it."
Good luck, and know that you’re not alone on this, it’s more common than you probably think.
no ofcourse it is not weird if you feel comfortable then it should not matter
As a requirement for getting certified, teachers are trained in how to handle student’s emotional problems. Tell exactly how you feel and go from there.
Try not to cry while saying your story however, and talk to her when she’s not busy.
If she’s a cool teacher I would definitely talk to her. Any good teacher will appreciate a student that takes a genuine interest in the class and goes out of their way to seek help in areas they are having problems with. I would definitely give it a shot. Try and see her on her lunch period if you can, or after school so she has time to talk to you.
No, its not weird to talk to your teacher about that, because that’s why your teacher is there, is to help you.
why not your counselor
