How do I say “Speak English, or don’t speak to me.” in Spanish?
I live near Miami, and the majority of the population either speaks spanish, is rude, or speaks rude spanish lol. I just want to be able to say this to them to get my point accross! (they came here from 'wherever' because it's better, but refuse to learn the language?!?!?!)
Go read this, you'll see why it p*isses me off.

And "bella" and "come break me down", you're both idiots. There are Immigration laws for a Reason.
Mr.Inquisitor.
You're one of the people I'm upset with. Yes, I realize I'm in miami and that I'm the minority here, but you fail to get it through your obviously brick-thick skull that Miami is a part of the UNITED STATES, in which ENGLISH is the national language. Would you move to Germany and expect it's residents to cater to your language deficiency? I think not.
I'd really love for you to read my blog (link above). And feel free to spout some more horse-s*hit at it. I won't even waste my time deleting it. I'd like eveyrone who reads it to see the fault in your reasoning.

Habla ingles por favor! o no hables conmigo.
i inserted please. lol.
No me gusta las albondegas.
"Habla ingles, o no hables conmigo."
Pronounced: Obla ( O sound like October) eenglays, o no oblays cone-meego.
lol.. i did my best on trying to spell out how to pronounce it XD
Habla ingles o no me hables.
Soy un inglés estúpido que habla a persona — sigue adelante y se ríe.
Learn their language OR get out of their country and move back to Europe!
God!
How do you know they refused to learn English? Maybe they just got here and its hard to acclimate to a new country and try to learn a new language all at the same time. There are more things to worry about than someone speaking Spanish.
Actually, no, I’m not an idiot. I just have better things to worry about than someone speaking Spanish, Italian, Greek or any other language for that matter.
EDIT: And since you are from Miami- the majority of the people that you hear speaking Spanish are probably Puerto Rican. They are considered US citizens and have just as much right to be here as you do, whether they speak English or not. They don’t have to follow any immigration laws. You probably didn’t know that, did you?
"No Habla espanol" -I don’t speak spanish. "Por favor, no habla a mi en espanol." And if that doesn’ work , you can alwasy get your point across more directly with the bad words. I learned the bad words first, then the good ones!!
What is your point? That you can be rude in a language you don’t normally speak? How is that going to help the situation?
You’re in Miami….HOLA? You’re not going to change them, so don’t even try. If you want to speak English only then move to Boise, Idaho… oh, wait there are Basque people there… some who speak Euskara and sometimes Spanish. Try Chicago. No, no…too many Polish speakers. How about MIlwaukee? Oh, all that German speaking! Well, there’s always Portland or Seattle… you can just cover your ears and ignore the Spanish, Japanese and other Asian languages.
MY point? This is a multilingual country…and freedom of speech means not just what you say, but the LANGUAGE you say it. Get used to it, xenophobe
Just say:
NO HABLO ESPANOL
( i dont speak spanish)
NO ME HABLE EN ESPANOL PORQUE NO ENTIENDO!!
( dont talk to me in spanish cuz’ i dont understand)
Hope my answer can help!!
(Espero que mi respuesta te ayude!!)
habla Ingles, o no me hables
Say "Fah-VOR day ah-BLAR el ing-LACE, oh no AH-blay cone-ME-go." (Favor de hablar el ingles, o no hable conmigo.) "Please speak English, or don’t speak to me."
They don’t refuse to learn the language. Have you ever tried to learn another language? I don’t think you’re smart enough to learn another language, and barring people educated in their early years, I don’t think many adults have the capacity to master another language at all.
Now, there are people who are gifted with enough intelligence to continue learning languages and fluence, but they’re few and far between. You honestly expect every single person who comes here to be a genius? Anyone who leaves Cuba to escape Fidel Castro’s communism to either be a genius or go home and be repressed?
Very compassionate, there. Now, I do agree that we should stop catering to Spanish speakers to strengthen their immersion into the English Language, but businesses only care about money, and imposing federal English-language laws on businesses, I think, is morally wrong.
Besides, hearing other people just casually speak another language isn’t that bad, especially when it’s not really to you. I speak Japanese and French at my friends all the time to practice my skill with the language, and they don’t seem to mind too much. They learn from it.
For the uninitiated: Spanish is one of the most amazing languages in the world spoken by some of the most amazing people in the world.
Do you have any idea how lucky you are living in one of the best states in the US surrounded by rich culture?
Did you know that English people run either to Spain or Florida every summer for the Spanish / Hispanic way of life?
If you really don’t like the people you live with, you’ll have no difficulty swapping places with a British person… where we only speak boring English… oh, and it rains all the time!
Now go learn Spanish – it’ll change your life forever for the better
"Speak English, or don’t speak to me."
There are many ways to say that in Spanish. The shortest I can think of: Habla Ingles o’ no habla a me.
As you live in an area where many people speak Spanish you would probably have a good time learning to speak Spanish. Using it on the street is the fastest way to learn. Listen carefully. Ask questions. How do I say? ?Como digo? Spanish is so much easier to learn than English, it is no wonder that Spanish speakers speak Spanish when they can. Your belief that their behavior is rude may be keeping you from getting the benefit of a multicultural experience. Your belief may be masking your own rudeness. The irritation you express in your question carries a subtext of your rudeness. You find yourself in contact with others who have difficulty expressing themselves in English, and you want them not to speak to you? Do you know everything already so it is unimportant what they might want to say to you? What if someone wants to tell you that the same product is on sale in the next block for half the price? Join in. It is fun.
When I visit my son in San Francisco, I hear many dialects of Spanish on the street. I also hear Spanglish. I took such pleasure when I heard some young thugs say, "Vamos a gufiar." This is pure English as what they had in mind was to go on Mission street and goof on people. They just made goof into an ar verb with a minor stem change.
I speak Guatemalan Castillano, a 16th century dialect that has stayed fairly pure in Guatemala. In San Francisco I hear Mexican, Honduran, Cuban, Nicaraguan, Salvadoran. Colombian- every kind of Spanish. I confuse shop keepers because they see and hear me. I am a little light, however my customs and courtesies are correct. My Spanish is this old fashioned Guatemalan dialect. I am sometimes asked if I am Latino. Ladino in Guatemala. !Si! Cuando me sirve. Yes! When it serves me.
And it serves me often.
parlando Francisco o no parlete voi
It looks like it’s been answered… but I also commented on your blog as well…
hablar inglés o no hablarme
is probably the best and fastest way to say it…
PS.. i loved your blog!
and as for the first person that answered.. she has no idea what she is talking about… she said she doesn’t like meatball soup!!!
You can say: Habla Inglés o no hables conmigo, or No hablo Español y tampoco me interesa hacerlo.
And at the end don´t hesitate to say: Se me nota lo inculta y ordinaria que soy?
