The easy way is to put in a lot of time and energy into it. Study often. Learn the verb tenses thoroughly. Learn the basic words and sentence structures. What has worked for me is to take classes in a school/university while supplementing it with listening to the language every day through CDs that also teach Spanish. I would also consider traveling to a Spanish-speaking country for months and even taking classes there. I think that this is best after you have studied for a few months on your own so that you will be able to speak at a higher level. And when I say go to a Spanish-speaking country, I would recommend speaking Spanish at least 1/2 of the time (In many tourist trap cities people speak English). And consider taking Spanish classes in an immersion program in another country. I have done this also and it has also helped a lot.
Edit: It’s important to take baby steps when learning the language. Trying to watch movies in Spanish right away (even with English subtitles) will probably only discourage you. Immersion is great if you have 1 on 1 instruction with a bilingual speaker, but can also be discouraging if you are with up to 5 students and you are not grasping the concepts well.
The easy way? Well the best way is to find someone that speaks spanish and interact with them. Have them speak only spanish to you and you’ll pick it up very quickly.
Work on your English first.
