How can I learn Spanish easier and more quickly?
Personally, I think the school should just sent us all to Spain for a month. Wouldn't that save them time and money? I study alot and try my hardest, but I can never seem to remeber the words well. Do those learn Spanish tapes work well?
I have been taking Spanish for 3.5 years now. I can somewhat speak it, but not as much as I'd like to.

Hi,
learning any language is easier if you HAVE to use it to survive…When I moved out to Spain I had little Spanish and needed to learn quickly just to buy groceries and do all the ‘normal’ things we take for granted in our home country.
Yes…a month in Spain would certainly improve your Spanish, but it wouldn’t make you fluent…for that you would need to be where people don’t speak any English and you have to almost think in Spanish. A month wouldn’t be long enough.
Spanish tapes (or CD’s etc.) are usually pretty good and there are very good interactive computer programs out there which will train you to use good, and understandable, Spanish and also for you to recognise the sounds of people talking. These programs would require you to have a microphone attached to your computer and would ‘grade’ your responses to the very real situations and let you know whether you were ‘excellent’, ‘would be understood. or ‘not’ as the case may be.
They are a very good way of improving your language skills and certainly cheaper than travelling to Spain to learn (perhaps not as enjoyable, but you can’t have everything, can you?)
Good luck with your learning, don’t give up. A second language is always worth having and it will make any holidays in Spain or Mexico far more enjoyable.

When you find out, please let me know. I understand a lot of Spanish, but I’m scared to speak it.
I would get a program for the computer to learn Spanish and if you have problems remembering the words than I would stucy them with note cards.
For some reason Spanish was extremely easy for me, and extremely difficult for my friends. Personally I think it changes with the people, some people just get Spanish and others struggle, but with the right method and determination you can do it.
If you can afford it, try the Rosetta Stone series. Or, check and see if your local library has it on file.
Rosetta Stone software, worked great for me when I had to learn French!
Hang out in the parking lot of the Seven-Eleven across the street from my house. The only language spoken there is Spanish.
Rosetta Stone software.
The Spanish tapes work as long as you’ve got lots and lots of time to practice…and don’t mind talking away to yourself in traffic.
Take clazzez or even buy or borrow spanish bookz. Also u can get spanish moviez in there language
Rosetta Stone is really good. I used it and thought it worked well. More so than others I tried. If you’re around someone who speaks spanish all the time, it’s a big help.
CD’s while driving in the car help as well. I would eventually get a spanish verb book after you get the basics down. Trying to remember all the different forms of the same word is probably the hardest thing.
Just immerse yourself into it. Forcing yourself to speak spanish where no one speaks english can be a real motivator.
Rossetta Stone. It’s a good way to practice, and it’s not hard to understand and annoying. This is not an ad. (lol)
You need to speak it, whether it is with other classmates or someone who already speaks it that will help you more than just staring at the words from time to time.
I have not tried the tapes but I have used some computer programs like Rosetta stone and the audio/video flash card method helps since it ‘tests’ you and repeats an idea with different cases.
well, just give it time. i dont think anyone could learn a language perfectly in less than a year. give it time, and you could do it.=) good luck!
Try songs. Get a few songs in Spanish and their lyrics. Try understanding the meaning of the song without translating it whole, but only the words you don’t know. Then sing the song. It should give you more vocabulary and you’ll practise pronounciation. Also, try to think in Spanish.
flash cards and go through them all the time! I learned German and Im learning spanish now. Also try to think in the language you are learning watch movies listen to music anything that will expose you the the language as much as you can. Repitition, repitition, repitition.
You did not indicate how old you are; so, this may not apply to you. However, I studied Spanish in college and it was not until I got romantically involved with a women of Spanish decent did I really learn Spanish. We spent long nights in bed speaking nothing but Spanish. Those tapes help; but, nothing like rolling in the hay. Otherwise, study, study, study!!!!!!!
Schools really should do that! The best way to learn the language is to hear it being spoken.
But since you can’t go to Spain, I suggest either finding somebody Spanish and befriending them. (for example I live in California and there are lots of Spanish-speaking people here)
OR
find a penpal in Spain. That helps, because they don’t use the "formal" language which is used in textbooks, but instead introduce you to their culture, street talk etc.
Search myspace for people your age who live in Spain (it would be good if they can also speak English) and send them a message telling you want to be friends.
I’ve done that with French teens and it worked out perfectly!
Watch some Univision and some Telemundo, and if possible, watch some Televisa!

Learning a second language can be tricky for almost anyone. I used to be one of those people who thought I had trouble learning Spanish but discovered that the right program can deliver.
The key is to be immersed and you can be immersed without traveling to another country if you have the right program and you practice (aloud) saying what you have learned.
I have heard great things about Rosetta Stone but I’ve checked into it and it’s really expensive. I personally use Rocket Spanish, which offers an audio course as well as games, pictures, flash cards, and a members area.
The RS program is designed to immerse you so the audio portion of the program has you involved in realistic conversations, and this practice gives you the confidence to keep practicing. They have a free trial to help you figure out if the program matches your personal learning style.
Also, I put together a page to help people just like me find some great places to learn and practice Spanish without getting lost in the search engine pages for days and weeks (that could be valuable learning time).
So, take advantage of my research to help you avoid wasting your time finding the best approach at http://www.squidoo.com/learnspanishtoday.
There are a lot of FREE ways to get valuable information!
I hope this helps!
