Now I understand in california there's alot of mexicans but still do we really need that much of them ?

ok, i am studying Spanish on my own , no formal training... many, if not all of my books lament the fact that English lost the "subjunctive" clause, but Spanish, joyfully, if rich with it.

What is subjunctive for English? I know what it is for spanish. Should we bring it back for English to make our language "more rich"?
typo : if = is

I'm studying Spanish and I think it would be helpful to watch Spanish shows sometimes. Provide me with some good sites please.

Se cree que se pierden los lentes.

It is believed that the glasses are lost.

Is there a radio station that has Music in Spanish? In the US? Like Aventura, Wisin y Yandel, Tony Dize. Music like that??

I am looking for real suggestions.

I heard a song on a Spanish radio station...some of the lyrics are "quise encontrar" and "se habla contigo" but they may not be in that order....please, if you know what this song is tell me!! It sounded pretty awesome.

I need a website where I can type in a Spanish word and it'll give an example of that word in a sentence. Displaying how that word can be used. I'm NOT talking about a translator.
Thank you!

Where can I read the book, " Atraves De Cien Montanas" by Reyna Grande online?

I prefer funny tv shows.

I am trying to do a little project in which I wish to add Spanish voices to it. Though, VB '05 only accepts .wav format, so this can be a bit of a hassle.

Where can I get a program that does text-to-voice in Spanish and can be saves as a .wav? Or at least in another format so I can convert it to .wav?

American Sign Language (ASL)
I have been study Spanish little more deeper and I start to realize Spanish's grammar is almost or some similar as (ASL)'s grammar.
My point is those people who speak Spanish and those Deaf people in American don't live together and how in the world did Spanish and (ASL) grammar is almost so similar?
Why is that? or How did that happened?
To let you know that I am Deaf and my first language is (ASL).

Thanks.
@ Californiamama: You said it true, but the question how did in the world Mexician or Spain get almost same as in ASL?
I ask because ASL is in America and those people speak Spanish don't know Sign Language and how in the world we almost have same grammar?
@ JH ♥ ASL * 愛万多* Happy A: Yes, I know ASL history, but how did Spanish get so similar with ASL? And yes ASL is coming from French.
And I am thinking that English language is not pure language? Because those many other countries are so smiliar and how in the world did ASL are so similar like their languages?
Sorry, folks, I should have write English proper, but my mind is on ASL now.

I mean don't we speak English in this country. I mean why can't they learn the language, why must we adapt for them. We didn't do it for anyone else? Plus are schools are starpped for cash as it is, and all these resources going for spanish textbooks, is money that can be spent for education in teachers and quality standards.

I am looking for good books I can get that will be good for teaching adults/teenagers English. I would prefer conversation books, but I also need activities for listening.

I think I heard it on z100 many times. It's a spanish song with a club/salsa beat and very catchy. Anyone know the title? It's a recent song. Might be old. Not sure. It's a guy, who sounds kind of old, more DJ-type rather than an actual singer.
Sounds a little techno/trance-ish too.

I have a friend coming to visit from Spain in a few months who I believe is bringing their boyfriend. I don't know for sure if he speaks english so I'd like to at least be able to say some things to him in spanish. Anyone know of any really good, easy to understand spanish books or programs that I could learn quickly from? It would also be great if they weren't too spendy.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Since my senior year schedule is completely full, I can't take any more Spanish classes. Although I'm Mexican-American and hear and speak Spanish often, I need refinement of the language. Also, I've taken Spanish III Honors at school.

Also, does anyone know of any free online courses for AP Spanish Language? I could do that as well.

What textbooks, study aids, vocabulary flashcards, and overall things I can do or purchase to get a 5 on the test? I really don't want to take introductory Spanish in college when I know all of that.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

:) Muchas gracias :)

for learning spanish, so not too many complicated words. im european so spanish de espana would be better!! thanks!

I'm trying to describe the way a person sounds when speaking English with a Spanish accent for a short story I'm writing. Can anyone help me? If you need ideas, the voice I have in mind is sounds like Inigo Montoya's accent in the Princess Bride, or Prince Caspian's accent in the movie.

When listening to Pandora Radio, I keep getting Spanish ads, I speak about 3 words of Spanish, so this is fairly disconcerting. How would I change this?

I want books, or virtual books that I can read to improve my spanish. The only problem is that most books are translated, which gives them an awkward spanish that is confusing. I need books which are written originally in spanish. Thanks.

I seek spanish sometimes, is there any spanish tv shows or soap operas?.

if you don't know you could look it up on the computer or send me an image if you want

I have been studying spanish for 5 years and just did my GCSE which i think went well... As i want to continue spanish next year how can I become more fluent over summer and broaden my vocabulary and listening ability?? I am also going to spain in the summer for a week with my family so what could i do in the country to improve my language skills? I was thinking maybe spanish films, does anyone know any good ones??

Is there a way to get episodes of recent talk shows? There was a spanish talk show today with midgets that was sooo funny, I wanna have it. Is there a way to order these if you pay for them?

I'm writing my best friends mom a letter to show her my appreciation, and she doesn't speak very good English. I'd really love it if you could do it in conversational Spanish and not standard. I'd like to say "Dear 'Mom', thank you so much for everything that you have done for me. I really love your house and your wonderful family. You're the first parent besides my own that really likes me. All my other friends parents think I'm a bad person. Thanks again. Love Love Love, Alexsis."

why is it hispanics normally speaks with a pitch of voice that is higher than any other language?

Their voice generally has a higher pitcher than everyone else that speak other idiom. Why is that? Phonology?
