or would a minor with around 6 courses along with some reading of Spanish websites, watching Spanish T.V. be just as good?
What is considered to be the best or at least decent aid to learning spanish, like software, audiobooks etc.
I have got a cd by michel thomas but there are some cons to his teaching, he has no accent and doesnt go through some basic stuff like colours, time etc
If youve learnt the language yourself from one of your suggestions that would be better to hear cause then i know its at least proven to be decent.
Thankyou
hey well i speak great spanish but my little cousins parents want her to learn spanish, me and her parents have tryed teaching her but i guess shes just a slow learner..she knows a lot of spanish but not alll of it..

So this year I have the hardest spanish teacher and I am having issues with passing quizzes and stuff, so is there a good way to study for spanish tests and stuff
Is it possible to pass all your Spanish courses either with a major or minor and still not be fluent?
I want to learn both spanish and french. I want to start with the easiest language out of the two. which one is easiest to master?
I am asking because I am considering buying Rosetta Stone, they have two different versions of Spanish, the Spain version and Latin America. Thanks in advance for your replies!
i getting a bit worried, i'm almost 21 and my professor said that one should be able to master as much foreign language as he can before he turns 21. All i know are English and my local dialect. Any suggestions?
I want to learn to speak spanish or just the basics
anyone know of any websites? I know i can buy cd's pr take classes but i didnt know if there was anything on the web???
i want spanish audio words so that i can listen to them on my mb3 player.
I want to learn Spanish, so next summer when I go to Honduras I can fluently carry a conversation. I was considering Rosetta Stone, but it is very expensive and from what I understand, you aren't fluent in the language once you finished using it. I was just looking for some suggestions on how to learn Latin American Spanish.
I really want to learn how to speak Spanish fluently, and I plan to take a formal course on it. In the meantime, I'd really like to start learning about tenses and cognates and things like that, like ar or ser or estar, etc. I'm familiar with the language because I grew up in a Spanish-speaking household, however, I want to make sure I start where it's easiest! I know most words, but obviously, grammar is where I struggle.
I found some really good books and websites...where should I start? Like what would ideal to start looking at or reading about?
Thanks:)
Im honduran. About 95 percent of my family including my parents both speak english and spanish... I grew up not really speaking spanish. When I was little my mom tried teaching me but when I would go to school It seemed like I would get confused between the two languages english and spanish. So Teachers told my mom that I had a speech problem. So long story short in order to prevent problems in the future for me My parents just taught me english, never to really learn spanish again.
I am 20 years old now. If I hear a spanish person talking or when my parents talk in spanish I pretty much know exactly what they are saying. Most times I can repeat back in english word from word what I just heard in spanish. & Sometimes I get confused or thrown of by a certain word but I'm always on point as far as what the topic was regarding. So I'm not dumbfounded at all as far as spanish is concerned. BUT the problem comes when I have to speak back! I get tongue tied, I have to double think how to conjugate this word or that one. If I want to know what something means in spanish i have to ask or look it up. When 9 times out of the 10 i heard the word million of times before... FUNNY THING IS, I can read and write spanish(writing is not soo so perfect) but everything in spanish i perform so well in except speaking it. I guess its because i started learning through hearing and years ago when i got serious about it I started reading it. Then in highschool i took a spanish class for about three years where i learned more and also wrote in spanish...... I tried getting my parents to help, but sometimes my mom is impatient when i ask what this and that means. And she talks spanish to me because its something we are so use to doing. My Dad never speaks spanish, even in Honduras. Because he grew up on an Island where they only spoke english, and just recently he started speaking spanish often because of where he works but i think he prefers english better..... So right now its only me teaching myself, my only sources that I have is hearing others when they speak and an online translator. So I was wondering what can I do, to perfect at it speaking wise?? Thank You
Im going to stay with a family member in Spain for 5 weeks in September, i'd like to be able to speak spanish to help me get around easier. I already know the basics, numbers, days, months, colours, family members, that kind of thing etc. But whats the best way to learn as much as I can to speak like proper conversations fast?
I'm taking spanish in college. I have to because I am going to be a teacher. I might minor in it I haven't decided yet but how hard is it to learn. I want to be fluent or try to be, in spanish but I heard as you get older it's harder to learn. Should I possibly try to buy a CD thing for me to listen to when I'm not in class?
I know a bit of French and Russian, but how can I improve on these seriously, and possibly learn Spanish as well? I have no plans to move.
Are there tests of proficiency or certification available anywhere?
I was searching for some but i cant find any good ones. so do you know any good spanish helping games to help me study.? i take Spanish 1 so just the simple stuff (the days of the week, the colors, the body parts, etc.) thanks.!!!!!!!!!
Im learning roseta stone's latin america spanish. and I just had a couple questions Im hoping someone who's fluent or native to the language can help.
First, Im a little confused when your suppose to add 'endo' on to the end of a word. like leyendo.
and my last question is: I've noticed that when Im learning to speak or read in spanish some things sound as if Im saying it backwards when Im translating it in english in my head. I cant think of any good examples of the top of my head but Im sure someone who speaks both english and spanish has some idea what Im talking about. Im sure learning english sounds backwards at times to a native spanish speaker. Is there some sort of guideline out there I can follow so I know Im speaking in the correct order/form? because I don't want to speak spanish in an english form and have a native spanish speaker be like 'why is he talking so strange.' get what Im saying?
(and please no smart ass comments. Im trying to learn and understand this)
I'm going to a new school that teaches you either Spanish or French starting in middle school to high school for half of each school year. The other half of the year is Gym. I chose to learn Spanish. But I also wanna learn Japanese outside school at home. Does this sound like a good idea to learn the two languages at the same time or should I wait?
I want to learn a language in college, but Spanish just feels awkward on my tongue. Maybe it's the rs or something, I'm not sure. Butbi believe Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French Are all similar?
I also am interested in study abroad and it would be cool to go to a country where I know the language.
I plan on majoring in psychology, minoring in pre-med (and maybe a language) are there any foreign universities known for those things?
I plan on becoming a psychiatrist, by the way, which is why I'm majoring in psych rather than something medical. I want to be well rounded, I desire to learn many things rather than being shallow, uninformed, inexperienced, and one dimensional, and this is the bare minimum of that. I didn't have a problem memorizing Spanish, just the dialect felt awkward to me when I tried to speak it. German is interesting, as I am mostly German myself. I find Russian and Arabic beautiful but I'm not sure that those are places I want to visit, and Russian is one of the hardest languages for English speakers to learn.
I'm very interested in learning Spanish. Do you know a web page where I could buy online conversations trough Skype for exemple? Thank you!
I'm looking for real time conversations. I would like to improve my spoken Spanish. Thanks!!
I speak Spanish very well. I learned through immersion. I'm currently not practicing as much as I should and I need to practice advanced grammar and sharpen my skill set. I'm looking for software I can use at home tailored to people who have pretty much achieved fluency but want to perfect it.
Italian and French are consider languages of love and sophistication. Spanish, in the USA, is often viewed as the language of the illegals. Do you think a greater percentage of Americans would embrace Spanish if we could just get over all the negativity associated with Latin America or illegal immigrants?
I lived in San Antonio for sixteen years, and now I live in EL Paso. There is absolutely no real desire (among Americans) to acquire the Spanish language, why?
Can i take for example elementary spanish 1 and elementary spanish 2 on the same semester?
I am a nineth grader taking spanish one... I plan on learning as much spanish as I can... I'm looking for a computer teaching program to help me learn my spanish... I want it to be slightly fun and interactive... I really need to get better grades in spanish so I need an awesome program. Thanks
