No you’l be fine. The two languages are completely different as they have different roots (German is Germanic and Spanish is Romantic).
I know people who study both and don’t have a problem. I studied German and French together and I NEVER muddled them up because they are so different. If you took French and Spanish together though, that would be confusing – they are so similar – I have friends who struggle with that one (and one girl in my German class is fluent and Dutch and always writes Dutch words instead of German because they are so similar)!
But German and Spanish are so different, in prononciation, grammar, and vocabulary, that it shouldn’t be a problem. You will recognise a German word if you write it in a Spanish sentance and visa versa – you will see the difference!
Enjoy learning 2 languages – it’ll be fun – you’ll eventually be able to read books and watch films in 3 languages, which gives you a much wider range to choose from.
Go for it!
(I speak Spanish and love German.)
Of course, actually I’m doing the same exact thing.I’ve been learning Spanish for 5 years in school and German out of school for 2 years.I’m learning German from my family(they are from Germany).but I will say it is difficult learning both but after a awhile it gets eaiser.but I think you can do it!go for it! Good luck
Definitely! I took 3 languages at the same time: Italian, French, and German. The only thing I remember getting confused, and it happened just once, was huit and acht, eight in French and German respectively.
Only if you take Albanian at the same time-then it will work, but just those two Spanish & German-without Albanian-will not work out.
Absolutely. Spanish and German come from two different language families. Therefore, in theory, you should not get the two languages confused.
