livemocha. I agree with the first poster…I´ve done a couple of languages there.
First, you are not going to become fluent with it, but it will give you a good start, it’s simple, and you work at your own pace.
There are PLENTY of free sites, many of them attached to university courses, some to high school courses, online.
Try these:
BBC languages.
Babbel.com
Byki.com (okay, it’s just a few sets of flashcards, but it fills in some holes that livemocha leaves)
About.com then search Spanish Language…good grammar lessons and worksheets, again, something that livemocha leaves out…so far…they are constantly adding, and that is one thing they have told me is going up eventually.
Also: for some chat time go to nosayudamos.ning.com and sharedtalk.com
And, you can search for "learn Spanish online free" The first few are included in the above.
livemocha.com is a great place to start! There are lessons in many, many languages and written and oral exercises you complete than can be graded by people around the world that are actually fluent in that language. The lessons come in a variety of skill levels and the community aspect is great when trying to work on, in your case, a spanish accent.
it is an useful website
