I've been trying to learn more Spanish and I've heard that having a pen pal is a good idea when it comes to learning a new language. Would anyone be interesting in talking with me in Spanish over email?

I prefer funny tv shows.

I'm taking Spanish 2 right now during the summer to get ahead, but I'm afraid that I may not have learned enough to make it in Spanish 3. I wanted to know what you guys thought were the most important things to learn in Spanish 2.

I need to do a spanish main course at school so it has to be easy (but not to easy) and done within about 45 mins

I want to learn both languages, but I must learn but one for now, so which one would be the best one to learn first?

Sometimes out of NOWHERE, my computer starts playing audio of this spanish (you can hear him in the background, a translator is talking) guy telling me how to cook lobster. WHAT THE HELL?! It turns off in a couple minutes, but this worries me that I might have some kind of a virus or something.

My mom wants to learn English on the computer, but I can't find any free classes in Spanish on the internet. Does anybody know a website? and please, if you don't know any sites, please don't answer this question.

I am trying to do a little project in which I wish to add Spanish voices to it. Though, VB '05 only accepts .wav format, so this can be a bit of a hassle.

Where can I get a program that does text-to-voice in Spanish and can be saves as a .wav? Or at least in another format so I can convert it to .wav?

American Sign Language (ASL)
I have been study Spanish little more deeper and I start to realize Spanish's grammar is almost or some similar as (ASL)'s grammar.
My point is those people who speak Spanish and those Deaf people in American don't live together and how in the world did Spanish and (ASL) grammar is almost so similar?
Why is that? or How did that happened?
To let you know that I am Deaf and my first language is (ASL).

Thanks.
@ Californiamama: You said it true, but the question how did in the world Mexician or Spain get almost same as in ASL?
I ask because ASL is in America and those people speak Spanish don't know Sign Language and how in the world we almost have same grammar?
@ JH ♥ ASL * 愛万多* Happy A: Yes, I know ASL history, but how did Spanish get so similar with ASL? And yes ASL is coming from French.
And I am thinking that English language is not pure language? Because those many other countries are so smiliar and how in the world did ASL are so similar like their languages?
Sorry, folks, I should have write English proper, but my mind is on ASL now.

i know it is yo soy then tu' eres then ella and ello' then nosotros and ustedes, ellos and ellas but what verbs go with them? i forgot my spanish book at school and have a quiz tommorow!

my kids are 11 and 13 so i need a website that will work and that isnt so hard for them

Meaning, i began learning french freshman year (im a senior now)
in junior year i began learning spanish
is that enough time between the languages?
how long should i wait to learn my next language?

(i guess im referring to mixing the languages...i heard that waiting a few years between each helps with that)

My sister told me you have to learn Spanish in order to get into college. Is that true?

I mean don't we speak English in this country. I mean why can't they learn the language, why must we adapt for them. We didn't do it for anyone else? Plus are schools are starpped for cash as it is, and all these resources going for spanish textbooks, is money that can be spent for education in teachers and quality standards.

I can read a sentence, but other than speaking exercises at school, I never have to come up with sentences quickly in a conversational manner. When I do worksheets, I have time to think.

I don't want to Skype with strangers, but I'm hoping someone out there has tips.

Also, I learned Filipino by watching soap operas, so any good Spanish soaps available online? BBC mundo is a bit too much for me.

PLEASE HELP!
Write three complete sentences in Spanish where you would need to use the "personal a." Do not copy examples directly from the pattern.

PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS AND HELP ME OUT!

taking spanish online courses....

I bought Fluenz recently and I've been very adamant about becoming fluent in Spanish. I took three years of Spanish in high school, but I wasn't very serious about it then (plus I graduated more than five years ago and have scarcely used any Spanish). I feel like the Fluenz lessons are bringing back some old memories of vocabulary words so I hope this will make my transition easier.

I know that everyone is different when it comes to learning a new language but lets say that someone dedicates at least a half hour a day to practice, has a basic foundation of vocabulary words AND has the resources to practice the language on people, how long would you estimate that person (me) could potentially become fluent in Spanish?

Here is the Fluenz website for those unfamiliar with the program: http://fluenz.com/languages/spanish/learn-spanish/

I already know French and English (obviously), and I am now interested in learning Spanish for general knowledge and traveling purposes (next summer I plan to volunteer abroad in Costa Rica). I bought a Berlitz program thing that comes with CD's and internet activities.
If I am willing to put in the necessary time and effort, will I be successful in learning the language?
