Well, I'm 14 and I live in Thailand. We have Thai as our first language and now I'm learning English and I think I'm okay with it. So I want to start the third language between Spanish and German with self-learning or online lesson. Which one is easier and well-known? What should I choose? This language may be useful in my future because I want to be a translator.

Please answer thanks :)
Thanks to everyone!!
Spanish in Thailand is not very popular as German or French. The most popular is Chinese but I don't want to learn an asian language. Can anyone answer me that on the internet, which one is used more often. I always find that in Youtube, every one just like to speak German.

This is happening very often, last night i was talking with spanish person and it turned in italian xD i dont know what should I do,they're so similar.. Since i started learning italian i cant focus on spanish without mixing words n stuff... HELP<THANKS!

how do u say numbers in spanish
for example: 5,603,000
129,494

I took Spanish a couple of years ago, but I need a textbook or something to review. One that covers it all, up to idioms, etc.

1. I am honest
2. I am happy.
3. My best friend is responsible.
4 My friends are caring.
5.My mom is stressed.

My first language is french, and I have been living in Texas for almost 2 years now. I have family in Mexico however, and speak, read, and write in spanish better than many "Mexican Americans" (or Tejanos, as many in Texas identify themselves, particularly those whose families have lived here for several generations)

It is insulting to me when they often refuse to respond to my spanish in kind, even though they speak it amongst themselves, and even more so when after I leave the room, I overhear them say 'Those gringos come here and can't speak spanish.'

If it's a tejano(a) who doesn't speak much (or any) spanish I don't mind speaking english with them. I do live in America after all. But when it's someone who can speak spanish, but they seem to think that one has to be of Mexican descent to be 'allowed' to speak it .. to me that's reverse discrimination.

!Ideas por favor?
Move where Rainbow .. i'm closer to Mexico City than Dallas, so proximity to Mexico isn't the problem. I'm here for school, at the best one so close to the border. I'm just frustrated at how people can be so close-minded. When was the last time an American told a 'foreigner' something along the lines of 'I don't understand your accent, so don't speak english with me.' Seems contradictory eh?
I wish I were in your shoes Casey .. me it seems the more I improve, the more suspicious they're becoming of me. =(
Good point Lovely .. and I can speak spanglish pretty well. But since I grew up speaking french, and not franglais, to me mixing two languages in the same sentence is frowned upon and a sign of lazyness.
lol Ducks .. maybe I should wear a doorag that says "Hablame espanol cabrones" .. lol
eh Jasmine .. that is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. If I didn't speak english how could I have written all that I have?

I want to learn Spanish language from the beginning.
I want to put the first steps on that road.
Anything would be helpful .. :)
Note : I wanna do it self learning because I don't have time to enroll in courses ..
thanks in advance

I am fluent in both French and English and have been my entire life. I've heard that already knowing French provides a great deal of an advantage, and if I read something in Spanish, I'm able to get the general idea of what they're saying.

I have an hour commute everyday and want to start benefitting from it by learning new languages. I would love to hear of some success stories of using audio cds to learn a new language and which type you used.

Imean like is thier a free software for a pc game where i can type english on my keyboard but when i push enter so other's can see it comes out spanish??? was just wondering and if thier is can u give me a link plz
p.s thank you very much :)

I have a spanish presentation on monday for spanish 2 and I just need some simple sentences of thing that I used to do or still am in preterite or imperfect. you can say it in English I can translate. I ran out of ideas.

This was form the show 90210 episode 8 one part is where they are in detention and the other at the dance. Help would be appreciated

I'm still young(11) so I want to learn a different language soon. The younger you start, the better, right?

I've researched a bit, and I read that Spanish, French and German are the easiest to learn for English speakers.

But I'm having touble deciding. I live in Canada, so French would be useful for me to learn, German interests me, and Spanish is supposed to be the easiest of the three.

So which one would you recommend?

The times I've traveled to the USA I always noticed the same.
There are almost no Latinos that you can talk properly with.
All they do is mix parts of English and Spanish in the same sentence, when grammatic are totally different.
Come on! Have more dignity and learn both languages!
dear Mayelita:

You are obviously the ingnorant:
First of all you didn't undersand my question.
And I invite everyone to look at the questions you have made in the past, by clicking at your name and see how bright were they, such as: how do I clarify my dark skin? or what to do with my ugly hair?, etc etc etc
I totally agree with head_blown_apart, that's the kind of answer I was looking for.
I have nothing against the Latinos living in the USA, I just think they should learn both languages properly, English because they now belong to the American society, and proper Spanish to honour their heritage.
Is that too much to ask?
Dear Jefe: Thank you very much for your advices!
I really appreciate the time you spent correcting what I wrote.
I wish everybody would correct someone else when they make a mistake, I never take that wrong.

I am an advanced beginner at Spanish, and was wondering if anyone had a particular program or method that worked well for them. I live in an extremely isolated community and don't think I could hire a tutor. There's no internet even available where I live, so my access is infrequent at best. Cost is also a consideration, but not a very strong one.
Thank you!

I was wondering if somebody could help me with these Spanish sentences. I am unsure which word goes in the blank.

1. ¿____ tiempo va a estar en España? ¿Tres días?

These are the choices:
Cuánto, Cuándo, Cuál. I would guess think Cuánto but I want to make sure I’m right.

2. Raquel ___ de los Estados Unidos

es, está. I’m unsure.

3. Yo quiero mucho al viejo Ronaldo. Creo que es un ____hombre.

Grande, gran, bien. I would say bien?

4. No tomamos el autubús, sino que ____ a casa.

Andamos, ande, anduvimos. For this I'd say andamos because it is nosotros form or should it be subjunctive form? So ande? But that doesn’t make sense.

5. Necesito el número de teléfono ___contactar al médico.

Para, Por, De. I would say para. Is that right?

6. Ojalá que don Fernando ____conocer a sus nietos.

puede, pudo, pueda. Is Pueda correct? Subjuntive?

7. Luis quiere que Raquel ___ otra vez de él.

se enamora, se enamore, se enamoró. Se enamora?

Thanks
ONE MORE.

8. Pedro quería que yo le ___ unos papeles

diera, dé, habría dado. ?? I really don't know.

Thanks a lot!
Actually one more too

En sevilla ___ muchos mercados

está, son, hay

I think it's hay but I want to make sure.

Okay well I have 3 best friends, one white girl and two koreans. When ever we hang out we will all be talking but then the two korean girls started talking in Korean, so me and the other white girl always feel excluded :( Once we asked them if it would be cool if we learn Korean but then they got really mad. They make us (well persuade us) to watch these Korean movies and shows. But when we wanted to learn it they got mad... When ever someone asks them what they are saying, they just say, "If I wanted you to know would I be talking in Korean?". So me and my white friend want to learn a language together! It can't be spanish or italian because most of our school speaks it. We both speak spanish, we were thinking of learning Portuguese. Is that hard? If so what language do you think would be easy for us to learn?

Don't just stick it into a translator. I already tried that. .
I want to know how to translate the expression "girl talk" or "guy talk"

Please let me know what you think!

Hello,
I was taught in Spanish that the verbs llamar, decir and preguntar need the direct object pronoun IN ADDITION to the direct object. For example: Necesito llamarle al jefe. I need to call (him) the boss.
How do I know what verbs need the direct object pronoun in addition to the direct object?
Thanks!

I want to be somewhere gorgeous with hiking and views and a relaxing vibe, and study Chinese more-or-less full time.

I need to escape the stresses of my work. I am burnt out. Gasping for breath.

I have one month, maybe more.

I am thinking of Lijiang, because it sounds like a beautiful place with a relaxed atmosphere. I found one school there, Shangri-La Learning Centre (slcchina.com) but I can't find any opinions on it.

I know basically no Chinese -- I need to start right at a beginner level.

When I lived in Guatemala I was once able to study Spanish in a relaxed little town on the edge of Lake Atitlan, an amazing, inspiring lake surrounded by volcanoes, and would like to find something along that lines in China. I don't want to stay in a 4-star hotel and spend a lot of money -- I much prefer backpacker trails and cheap eats and adventures galore.I'm 24, and wouldn't mind meeting other young people along the way.

Thanks in advance,

Cooked Brain in Beijing

Just leave suggestions..

Thanks!
PS: I would like something that challenges me.
I meant for school... what language should I choose to study after I finish spanish class...

Sorry.. I should of clarified.

I want to learn spanish but i don't want to buy it at the store. Do you have any ideas of a website that could teach me for free?

I'm teaching Nutrition to kids and adults of all different ages (3 classes: young children, adolescents, and adults) in the Dominican Republic. I'm looking for inexpensive books in Spanish that I can buy for the kids that are food/nutrition related so that they can learn the relation between food and good health. I don't know much Spanish (i'll have a translator) so it doesn't help me much searching for books. Any ideas?

I live in a listed building and satellite dishes are not allowed. I currently have freeview which is fine. Is there any way of receiving RTE, RAI UNO, TVE etc.. in my situation? I know there are a few PC solutions out there but that means leaving a PC permanently on just to watch tv? If a PC is the only route can anyone recommend a particular piece of software/service and is it legal? Thx!

I know there are a few PC solutions out there but that is not broadcast quality, it needs to be 'normal' quality. If you know of broadcast quality PC solutions please tell me! tkx
