I recently was on Google and saw "¿Qué idioma es más facil en apprender?" I am confused because sometimes before a spanish verb, I will see words like en or para. Can somebody give me a guide on all the different words that can come before a verb, why they would be there, and if they change the meaning of the sentence? A very detailed answer would be nice. I am extremely confused

i'm a native english speaker and i know a little spanish. i've been learning spanish since year 7 (just finished year 11) and i'm finding it hard to really get good. i know it takes time but apart from the 5 people in my class i don't know anyone who can talk with me and help out of class. it's not like i can just jump on a plane and go to spain so i'm looking for ways to assist my class work here.

another question, what's a good language to learn by myself? i love languages and i'm just looking for another one not to become fluent in but i just like studying them. i did a bit of mandarin in primary school, probably not looking for an asian language or one similar to spanish like french. so what would be a good useful to learn? i'm planning to travel around europe in my gap year so maybe one i could use a bit of over there? i don't know. any suggestions would be awesome!

I already have 4 years of spanish in high school and 2 yrs in college. I can understand it and have an excellent vocabulary in it. I am looking to be able to speak it in 4 yrs by the time I graduate from Chiropractors school. With this program is speaking Spanish fluently obtainable?

Has anyone used Rosetta Stone language learning software and were you pleased with it? I am considering purchasing the Spanish software. I have tried the rote memory CD's and tapes and I can say the basic phrases, but I still don't feel like I really have a handle on the Spanish language. Rosetta Stone seems like a good idea, if it is actually as good as the TV commercial says.

Please give me some answers from anyone who has used the software for Spanish, or if not for Spanish, then for another language even. Is it fun to use the software or does it feel like work? The commercials on TV make it seem like more fun than a barrel of monkeys to learn a language using Rosetta Stone. Is this true, or just an exaggerated sales pitch?

Thanks so much for serious responses.

I want to learn Spanish mainly to talk to Mexican people.I was thinking of using Rosetta Stone (which brings me to another question - is Rosetta Stone reliable?) but they only offer Spanish (Spain) & Spanish (Latin America) (question #3 which is closer to Mexican Spanish Latin America, or Spain's spanish?).But the point is, would either of those be efficient for talking to Mexicans? And if so how much?

I am currently studying Spanish at a university, and this fall I will be in Spanish 301. I have a pretty good grasp of the Spanish language and was wondering whether it would be smart for me to begin learning Portuguese. I definitely want to learn Portuguese at some point in my life, but starting to learn it now would open up opportunities for me to study abroad in Portugal in the near future. This is a dream of mine because Portugal is a beautiful country and I love the language. I want to continue my studies in Spanish, as I live in the U.S. and Spanish is a useful language to know here. So, giving up Spanish in order to start studying Portuguese is not an option. Because Spanish and Portuguese are similar, I am afraid that I would start getting them mixed up. Do you think this is a valid fear? Or do I have enough experience with Spanish that I would have little trouble keeping them separate?

i need to learn how to speak Spanish in 4 months so I can go study in Mexico in the fall. I am fluent in French. I understand simple Spanish sentences even though I have taken no formal classes.

I am already learning Spanish. I want to be a interpreter or a translator, and I want to be fluent in at least 2 other languages:English,Spanish,etc.etc. I am thinking about learning Hindi or Thai or Hebrew or something really foreign. Can anyone help me?

I am in Spanish 3 and can express many ideas in Spanish, and without having to think about it much. However, I want to do something outside of school that will help me become completely fluent. Do you know of any helpful software or websites I could use?
