Hi,

I'm not a native speaker of Spanish, so I would like to know how difficult it is to acquire the ability to pronounce Spanish words as accurately as do native speakers. Ideally I would be able to get rid of my American accent, but seeing as how many non-native speakers of English have an accent when speaking English, I'm afraid I won't be able to get rid of my American accent when speaking Spanish.

Any advice on how to get rid of an accent?

I'm in a college intro to Spanish course and for our project, we have to do a 3-5 minute talk in Spanish on someone/something that has to do with the Spanish culture. Any ideas would be appreciated. Oh, and did I mention that I need the topic by tomorrow morning...?

I would like to have a better understanding of the Spanish language and I've learned from a lot of people learning foreign languages that one day of helping you to learn more of a language is to immerse yourself in it. Are there any sites that make this easy like even a spanish yahoo?
